Are there any doctors on here?

I woke up yesterday morning with severe back and neck pains. I cannot bend forward without extreme pain and the feeling that my whole back is going to "give way" and not hold me. I cannot bend my head forward and look at the floor - it sends pains all the way through my back and I have a little bit of a headache...

you should probably go to the doctor, because maybe a doctor has to see it instead of someone telling you what it is on Y!A.

    Hope you feel better soon

The fact it was brought on so suddenly suggests either trauma or an infection.

Some viruses can cause pain in your neck which prevents you moving it.

Again, though, even if you were to find an answer on Yahoo! Answers (which is extremely unlikely without a consultation), you would be unable to be prescribed anything to help!

Book a doctor's appointment if you're worried about it. If it's not as bad as you first feared, try taking ibuprofen to reduce the inflammation which may be causing some of the pain in your neck/back. If it still lasts for longer than 3 days (as severe as you make out) then make sure you book a doctor's appointment.

Was your heater broke last night perchance?

I know if my bedroom temperature dips below 70, I'm guaranteed to have neck/shoulder pain the next day.

Sounds like pinched nerve on spine/back that causes those symptoms.
