Planning a wedding and don't like Disney's proposed dinner menu?
We love the Disney idea and everything but dinner menu.... We are of European Descent and proud of it I am Irish/British on mom's side and Italian/French on Dad's. My fiance is British/irish/blk on mom's side and Italian/Black on his Dad's.So we want to showcase our heritage in our cuisine choices.
Food Cuisine Ideas: Italian for dinner reception starts at around 3 pm for wedding after 2 PM or british brunch type of thing for lunch reception 1 pm for wedding taking place btw 9-11:30 AM.
****Everything is based on Disney Availability the day, time, and location for one and second determines what they have planned that day.Second if you book your location at Disneyland CA My original location has been changed several times. You should be able to have it there, but i was informed that my venue was overbooked even though i booked it in 2008 for my 2010 which has been postponed twice now my wedding looks like October 18th,2012 at the earliest. I was told i could have my wedding on a Disney Cruise Liner or waiting 3 years on the waiting list. So shouldnt we be able to choose things like deck 7 over looking the sea or castaway cay beach.Deck 7, cadilliac sessions &lounge is 2500 and you get 45 minutes for your ceremony/reception combined not including the 14 day cruise which is another 8k,castaway cay is 3500 you get 90 minutes +14 day cruise.
I like the water i wanted to go for the QE2 look kinda like Parent Trap the one w/ Lindsay Lohan in it, but the cruise liner is retired. The Cadilliac Sessions and Lounge would give me that same feeling.
I just don't wanna have fillet mignon (Steak) with my tilapia salmon on the same plate next to one another lol with a damn salad. WTH im paying 24k that includes my dress and everything and the 14 day cruise trip to europe (italy, london, ireland, the honey moon) castaway cay beach,st.croix, jamaica are the the primary ones lol.
My wedding will have some small children in attendance so i requested a few disney characters but there only allowed to attend receptions for 30 minutes wth.
I want to have something like this:
Artisan bread basket,Salad,Pasta dish, think olive garden
the drinks are fine curvee fairy tale cocktails -champagne,merlot red wine, and some vodka drink called pink paradise. the cakes are wht one w/bavarian cream filling the other pumpkin spice filling.
I need ideas for

If anyone gives you the run around especially such a co as Disney it's shady. I used to work for a resort that did weddings for brides & that resort has the sesame street characters. I can tell you now, no double bookings, no switching dates, no mess. One girl did bookings and four girls managed the weddings. That's it.
So they're wasting your time but it's your vision so stick it out if you think it's worth it
If they say you have to go with the type of MENU they have available then it's 85% you will.
Often they have diff categories of wedding style with a diff menu but you pay more.
If you play the brideszilla card you could argue that somewhere on the boat some chef is preparing those dishes so they can make some for you.
Lastly the reason why they don't make special menus is because they have categories and everyday they are making the same thing like clockwork. It's a routine. It's organized. You're getting a Disney package. This is what you asked for.

Skip the creamed corn from your list - otherwise you'll have too much yellow - different colors are attractive 1.) Baked chicken 2.) Cheesy Pots OR Mashed (mashed are more universally accepted, but then you need gravy too) 3.) Green Beans - not the GB casserole though - fresh, crisp good green beans - just a little butter, salt & pepper - not canned - or brocolli - but most people like g. beans more than broc. 4.) Tossed green salad - I disagree about toppings on the side - I say pick the normal toppings and toss it all together in the big serving bowl. It's hard to toss a salad and mix the dressing in on individual plates (tomato, cheese, green pepper, and cukes) with Italian type dressing - or go with something like a Greek salad (tomato, feta cheese, beets, chick peas, black olives, green pepper) with a good Greek dressing 5.) Cole Slaw - if you can make fresh - not from a supermarket deli. 6.) Assorted rolls and bread (all different colors, shapes and sizes) with real, room temp butter 7.) Wedding cake Don't worry about the vegetarians - If they are strict veggies, they probably won't trust that everything was made vegetarian (soup broth, etc.) - Vegetarians will always find something to eat.

Disney sound cool and everything but I hate the fact that they over booked and are pushing things around like your not an important client.
Not that I'm trying to change your mind or anything but maybe you should look into other options for your wedding. Find some place that will make you feel special and you can customize your dinner menu.
I live in Fl about 4hrs from disney world and its very expensive, so I'm sure disneyland in CA is expensive if not more.
Obviously from the overbooking a lot of people are doing disney weddings and it isn't anything new (not being rude)...if you really are going for the WOW. Factor look into other options and I'm sure someone would be more then happy to create the dinner of ur choice.
Again I'm not trying to be rude nor change your mind but it seems like there pushing you around and you have been waiting since 2008...I hate for them to get more of your money and you end up disappointed..becareful && goodluck
You can emai me any time...my name is bri I'm getting married 08.20.11
I'm just looking for other brides-to-be to chat with from time to time

I find this all very fishy.....Disney does not "overbook" their weddings....nor do they change the dates....you may keep changing the date and they may not be available for the date you change to. You said your original booking was done in 2008, now your looking at 2012...that is four years of "changes".....Again I state....this all sounds very fishy.

If someone pushed me around like this, I'd find another vendor. I don't care IF they're Disney.
Fact is: They've Disney, not God and they have no right to treat people like that.
