Sites to submit independent, unsigned music?
I am looking for websites along the lines of myspace music (the only one I know of, lol) where up-and-coming artists can submit full-length songs or albums of their own making, for the purposes of publicity etc.
Thanks!

facebook is actually really good.. you can get people to invite other people, when people 'like' the page it shows up on feeds, you can also connect other sites with facebook.
overall, if you can use it right and take advantage of it (offer a free download to those who invite there whole friendlist etc.) it's one of the best tools.
i also recommend reverbnation.
it is pretty popular and has lots of awesome features (you an set up a street team and hold street team competitions.
youtube couldn't hurt either.
CDBABY. it's amazing. if you a pretty decent fan base that actually wants your music on there ipods and if you have money; you can create an account, pay like 9.95 dollars per song (36 dollars per album) and they will distribute that song/album on itunes, amazon and 50+ of other music buying sites. You'll get paid 70¢ for any single you sell for 99¢. but you have the option to set the price of your music higher or lower. it's a great tool and i really recommend it if/when you have that demand for your music.
Tumblr is also good if you can get people to reblogg your stuff.
goodluck!
you can always get the wikipedia list of social networking sites, but honestly, you'll get the most publicity if you focus on 3 or 4 really popular sites atm.
It willl also be easier to keep your fans updated and get an idea of how big your fan base is.

no longer ALL significant labels are undesirable... to be on a significant label, you would be somewhat basic and mainstream... sorry yet it somewhat is basically my adventure. significant label bands are very wide-unfold and extremely repetative and relallllly uninteresting. with the occasional exception. being on a significant label is likewise very short lived for the main section. acceptance passes... indie labels are advantageous in the actual incontrovertible fact that they go away multiple the music as much as you rather than having a producer do despite the hell he needs. you have extra administration over your music and each thing else that is going alongside with it. unsigned is obtainable, yet plenty extra durable. it takes multiple promotiona dn traveling and many years in the previous you're extensive-unfold because of the fact labels have the luxurious of being extensive-unfold already and function a community already set up. so in case you're unsigned, you get no help, no advertising and you could produce, print, and realease your person stuff. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it somewhat is obtainable... basically far extra durable in case you're attempting to be very vast, and don't ideas being in a multitude of debt which you're in a position to get out of in some years, then bypass significant. in case you're attempting to basically somewhat make it by ability of with money, have administration of your music, nevertheless have help merchandising and producing CD's etc, bypass indie. yet once you're attempting to do all of it on my own, bypass unsigned for my section, i'm making plans to bypass indie. i attempted the unsigned component yet after a at the same time because it gets somewhat confusing. it is basically a count of selection
