How to change a comercial vehicles 24volt electrical system to 12volt?
I know you can purchase current converters to do this but the three I have bought have all failed after a relatively short time. Is there a way to reduce the voltage simply and safely with electronic componants brought off the shelf that will not fail in 12 months time.

If your driving auxiliaries just link up to one battery then buy a battery saver which cuts the supply when the voltage on that battery drops to 12.25 volts as used on tail lift systems to stop the possibility of flattening the battery so you cant crank the engine. To convert the whole system to 12 volt you would have to change the whole wiring loom, starter, alternator etc as 12 volt systems use twice the current draw due to half the voltage pressure being available
