Square root help, please!?

Here's the problem, could you walk me through step by step?

Original problem

7√50-3√2

Then I got...

7√25√2-3√3

Then

12√2-3√2

Am I doing it right? And, where do I go from here?

thanks for your help!

You got the first step right (the separation of the square root).

After that step you added the leftover 5 to the 7, but instead it should be multiplied by the seven for 35.

Then, since the two "base" square roots are the same (square root 2, I can't make the square root sign on my computer) you can subtract 3 from 35.

Your answer would be the number you get from (35-3) in front of square root 2.
