Do I need a bigger amp? 2 JL Audio 12w1's, JL 250/1?
I currently have 2 12' JL audio subwoofers 12w1's. I am powering them with one JL 250/1 mono amp.
I was thinking about getting a 500/1 amp or something, but I dont want to blow out the subs. Im basically wondering what the best wattage would be to feed the 12w1's.

yeah, they're 300w each (200-250 ideally) and only getting 125. Another 200 or 300w could only help.
Are they the 4 ohm w1's?
You don't have to spend JL money for a decent amp unless you just want to.
Anything around 500w at 2 ohms would work well.
This one would work great: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_21955_Kicker-Z...
As would this: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12018_Alpine-M...
This isn't bad either, especially for the price: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_29611_Kenwood-...

Doubling the power will net you approximately 3 dB.
For the money, the Alpine MRP-M500 is a good amp, as previously suggested. Would work quite well - assuming your W1's are 4 ohm.
