How bad is it to drink with Doxycycline?
I was prescribed Doxycycline 50mg for a pimple the bottle indicates nothing regarding drinking with it, it's pharma time release pellets. Some of the side effects on wikipedia also sound pretty nasty so i've been considering just ditching the capsules and seeing how it goes as.
I don't really want to drink with them then end up with a nasty case of death that'd kinda suck for a pimple. Also if it's bad to drink when on them is that only within like 2 hours of taking a capsule? or whilst on the medication?
The pharmacist also suggested a face and cream so i might just go with that instead if it' the Doxycycline is fair nasty.
Any advice would be appreciated =)

well its an antibacterial like tetracycline, amoxicillin, and such. I'm no doctor and everybody is effected different, but the theory is to much alcohol will kill the drug which is supposed to be killing the infection. I know lots of people who drank with no ill effects. I take tetracycline. They also say dont take pain killers and drink but people do it all the time to get a buzz. The fact is its usually the idiot that gets way drunk and then pops the pills rather than the one who pop pills then starts drinking(moderately)

I took doxycycline when I was a teenager and also drank, and did not die. The only side effect I had was heart burn.

I take doxy and I drink. I am still living and I have never had any bad experiences because of it.
