What is good prior experience for the FBI?
I'm planning on entering the FBI as a career but it's recommended that I have prior experience. I want to get into the FBI ASAP after college so what would be a good way to rack up some experience? Is there anyway I can work in law enforcement or the military during college? Thanks.

military officer (enlisted service may not help unless in crypto, intel, or specialized/exemplary service [special forces, etc.]), detective, intel analyst, forensic specialist, psychologist, scientist, accountant, lawyer, other fed agency spec agent; possibly teacher
I worked part-time as a sworn officer in a small town while in college and as a VN vet; being an enlisted reservist/NationalGd would probably not be beneficial and would subject one to deployment
Source(s): Retired fed spec agent (NCIS [when it was NIS], Customs, & finally Homeland Sec [ICE]), criminal justice adj professor, TX peace officer certification (inactive), TX licensed PI, sat on hiring panels for two fed agencies, formerly USMC Military Police officer & enlisted (to include CID) - Anonymous1 decade ago
very, very few FBI agents start out as police officers. get a job in accounting, or computer technology
