I tried out Christianity, but the thing is no one actually knows till your died and they can't tell people. But i also found it hard to believe there is a God when so much bad is in the world. And i also get confused about Jesus died to relieve us of all or sins past and presents so doesn't that mean Hitler is in heaven. But people can have there own views on things, Im 14 and my friend is religious and i don't mind and let her believe in what she like, like she lets me be a atheist.

It began as a funny story, and it's nonetheless a funny story. But it has stuck on excess of the long-established goal. The preliminary cause used to be to argue with the Kansas City college board in a case concerning an try to insert devout reports into college. The argument used to be that in the event that they have been going to speak approximately faith, they needed to incorporate all religions, adding the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Since that point, there were different makes an attempt to rally atheists and agnostics round symbols which might be stated to be innovations. I select the Invisible Pink Unicorn, myself. I love the ambiguity of ways are you aware she's purple if she's invisible?

I am serious about it because it is bringing world peace. I am sure there is a God because decades of study left me with the realization that atheism is extraordinarily weak in its logic, and that it is humanly impossible for any man or group of people to construct anything that even resembles the Baha'i Faith. Were there no God, the Baha'i Faith could not exist. Were there no Baha'i Faith, world peace would not be possible. They both exist, so world peace is beckoning from an ever-brightening horizon.

There is a good reason that larger and larger numbers of former Atheists have embraced the Baha'i Faith, myself included. There is a good reason that the Baha'i Faith has approximately doubled in size in the United States alone in the last three decades.

From the cover of The Baha’is magazine, a publication of the International Baha’i Community

In just over 150 years, the Baha’i Faith has grown from an obscure movement in the Middle East to the second-most widespread of the independent world religions. Embracing people from more than 2,100 ethnic, racial and tribal groups, it is quite likely the most diverse organized body of people on the planet. Its unity challenges prevailing theories about human nature and the prospects for our common future.

Some people claim all faith is blind, but my faith is a carefully considered, carefully reasoned and very reasonable, rational and defensible faith. Were atheist Stephen Roberts (1901-1971) standing in front of me this moment, I would say back to him, “I contend that we are both men of faith. I just have faith in one more thing than you do, and for very good reason. When you fully understand why I disdain all the devisers of superstitions and dismiss the gods of vain imaginings, you will understand why I believe in my God, and you will believe also." -- B. Knott Wildered (Not my real name, but the quote is mine.)

Because believing to something gives hope to some people. They believe theres a god. I don't believe in god myself either. Cause i got no evidence. But i don't need one, cause then i wouldn't believe i would know it. Believing is something not everyone can. I think they get offended when someones insultes their beliefs. Believing is something strong and if I respect people who believe in god, and i want to have respect for me to and my beliefs. God is just something about believing some do some some not. And its not something you can force no matter how you grow up.

Religion is a person's understanding of how the world/universe works. Science is a religion. Spiritual concepts are beyond description using earthly terms, however it is all we have to relate to.

It's well known that if you can understand how the world works then you can use that knowledge to your benefit. Prayer works. When you align yourself with God by repenting of all sin and accepting Jesus sacrifice then God will listen to your prayers. When you are in sin either because you have not repented or whatever, then God will hide His face from you because He will be ashamed of you. Those who think that they can keep sinning because Jesus died for all sin are mistaken. Jesus can only be crucified once, and when you accept that sacrifice, then you must follow the teachings of Jesus, lest you fall away. If one has accepted the sacrifice and then falls away, then that person will never get the holy spirit back. That's how it was explained to me and how I understood it when I read the Bible. But that information is really for one of the other posters.

Atheism is also a religion. It is the belief that there is no god. Agnostics believe that there is a god, but that none can know him. You would think that Gnostics would be the opposite of Agnostics, but it's not quite. Same with Theists; they're not quite the opposite to Atheists. In fact, many Christians would be offended at being called a theist or a gnostic.

People who are sure there is a god are so sure because they have a personal relationship with Him.

Millions of people testify to God's existence, so why do people still doubt?

People who believe in God and a life after death are generally happier than people who don't. People who trust that God will avenge the wrongs done to them don't end up in prison after seeking revenge themselves. People who believe in God don't lie in court. People who believe in God also believe that there is no crime which can be hidden from God, so they do not commit crime because they want to stay in God's good graces, which means that God will listen to their prayers. People who think they can get away with cheating their employees and the government do not believe in God. They may make a show of it, but these are hypocrites. So many people desire that other people believe as they do so they will not be cheated. If everyone believes the same then it is easier to work together. Working well together increases productivity and is good for everyone. An employer who believes in God will keep his agreement.

To repent, a person not only turns away from sin and goes in sin no more, but he must also repay his debts and make up for any damage except for where to do so would cause more damage or harm. To turn away from sin is to turn toward God. It has been said that if you love God with all your heart, mind, and soul, then you will naturally obey all the other commandments, including love your neighbor as yourself.

It is my understanding that the easiest way to destroy any organization is to infiltrate it and destroy it from the inside first. The U.S. government has been infiltrated on all levels and continues to send Billions of dollars to foreign countries as aid etc. while incurring tremendous debt to the taxpayers in the trillions. So too, religious organizations are run by men, who are sometimes in it for personal gain rather than sincere beliefs. It is my personal belief that the best way to worship God is at home in your closet. Those who make a show of it are trying to convince other people of their piety so they can fool them. To these sociopaths it is a game and they will use the church to hide assets and income from the government. They gamble that they will not be caught.

For the believer, this life is a training ground for the afterlife. It's like college: you may pass and earn the degree, or you may fail, lose the scholarship, and suffer the rest of eternity. Some have the image of Hell as Dante described it. I prefer to think of it as the place from which God eternally hides his light. This of course is an earthly description for a spiritual concept.

It is better that you have a loving relationship with God than that you have a fearful one, but a fearful one is still better than none at all, so the theory goes.

Finally, it is a 12 stepper concept that you can't get it if you don't first give it away. People want to spread the word about God just because it makes them feel good when they see others get the Holy Spirit.

Because they believe there is reason behind all the terrible things that happen, and when they die there will have been a point to their lives. If you believed that, you wouldn't want it taken away, would you? To realise that within 20 years they will be long gone and forgotten would destroy them.

its definitely not to make us feel superior. for some its a comfort for others its just something to believe in, something created us and no its not some wild crazy guess (hypotheses) if you wanna get scientific about it. and being serious about it is just their way of defending their beliefs

Because they have been "taught" (brainwashed) since they were a child that God/religion is the most important thing in life.

Because it's a matter of going to Hell/[Living life as a rational being], or Heaven/[die without ever having truly lived].

    Compassion demands earnestness in some.

I'm seriously against religion because I think atrocities are committed by people who believe in absurdities and this affect me and my community.
