Question about ovarian cysts?
Just found out I have an ovarian cyst and I'm having to just let it rupture on its own. Is there a chance that an ovarian cyst can affect your fertility or can cause a serious medical issue?

I have a strong history with ovarian cysts. I was never diagnosed with PCOS (poly-cystic ovarian syndrome) though, my testosterone levels weren't high enough. My experience with cysts is that they go away on their own. Usually nothing to worry about. I've even had a few rupture on their own. Painful, but manageable. Not near as painful as child birth! However, mine wasn't as big as a melon, the biggest I had was the size of a quarter. But when I tried to get pregnant, me and my husband were unlucky for over a year! I tried ovulation predictor kits and everything! I could NOT get pregnant! I finally went to the doctor to see what was up and the cysts came up in conversation. It turned out that I wasn't ovulating AT ALL because the cysts I would get wouldn't let the egg leave. The doctor prescribed me clomid (50 mg, the lowest dose) for three months. At the end of the third round, I got pregnant! Everyone is different with cysts and such, but usually doctors can find a way around that factor of infertility. Just wait out your current cyst, it will turn out all right!

I had an ovarian cyst during my last pregnancy. It was on my left ovary, but was not attached. When I was 16 weeks pregnant, I went to Mayo to have it removed. There was no way to tell if it was cancerous until it was out and could do testing on it. My main concern was my baby though, I could have lost my baby if it ruptured. Mine was the size of a small mellon, about 5-6 inches. How did you find out you had the cyst? How big is it? If it is small and just filled with fluid, most likely it will just go away by its self and not rupture. Most women get them from ovulation. If it is big, you should have it removed. I heard if it ruptures, it is worse than child birth. It could also twist. If it is attached to your ovary or fallopian tube, there is a chance it could damage it. You would still be able to have children because your other fallopian tube and ovary would take over. I am a little confused on why let would just let yours rupture?

It is a VERY gigantic possiblity that it might be a cyst. I am studying your query and also you sound EXACTLY like I do. I have cysts and feature been on BC due to the fact I was once thirteen on account that of the identical problems. IT sounds such as you do have a cysts, and so they must be in a position to do an extremely sound in your belly (no longer interior) to peer them if they're there. Somjetimes it calls for surgical procedure to get them eliminated different occasions you have got to allow them to burst on their possess wich is painfull, however you think SOOOO so much higher after. The soreness you probably having now is also person who has already burst and the fluid is aggrivating the whole thing. Look up Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom. I have this and plenty of different women have it too without understanding it. There are another wellbeing issues they will pass at the side of PCOZ (polycystic ovarian syndrom), that must be addressed. Nothing existence thratening, simply stuff that's a soreness within the butt. I desire you think higher hun! I recognise in which you're coming from and so they rather do suck. Good good fortune hun, and if they're nonetheless "discovering not anything" however you're nonetheless having the soreness, KEEP PUSHING THEM TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I had been handling cysts for eight years now, and so they nonetheless wont do something to support me. Its a protracted avenue in the event that they hold coming again, however expectantly they're going to support you greater than dr.'s had been serving to me!!! Good good fortune love!!

It affected mine, that's for sure. I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 16 and after monitoring the cyst in a lapse of 6 months, it got so big that the doctor had to do surgery on me and remove it, the problem was that the first check up at 3 months showed no improvement on it's size but when i went for my 6 months check up it had grown to the size of a 'lime' so the doctor was shocked for the growth and the time it took so he wanted to remove it, when he opened me he realized that the cyst was the size of a grapefruit and that it had engulfed the ovary and twisted the fallopian tube so my left overy was useless and i had to rely on my right one to do the baby making in the future.
I am currently pregnant with my first baby, but after we tried for 20 months, and a bunch of birth control pills and metformin for a few months to get my body in 'hormonal shape', and then the clomid was thrown in the mix and after 2 tries i got pregnant!
