Why do athiests hate Christianity so much?
I don't understand the hate atheists feel for Christianity.
If you worship Jesus-you will go to Heaven. Those who reject him will burn in Hell.
Jesus offers us salvation- WHY do people hate him so much??
No, Christians do not hate atheists.
We pity atheists,m because we know they will burn in Hell.
Jesus gives you a CHOICE
You can worship him, or you can burn in Hell.
He is letting YOU decide. That is an act of love.
weleed200, a 'Christian theocracy' as you call it would be a good thing. This nation is a CHRISTIAN nation. Once nation, under GOD. This would be a much better nation if EVERYONE worshiped Jesus. There is crime and deviance, homosexuality and liberalism BECAUSE some people have turned their backs on Jesus.
Salvation comes through FAITH ALONE, not through good deeds

The agenda of many powerful and influential Christians is to turn America into a Christian theocracy, and I've seen enough of how theocracies treat people to know I'll do what I can to keep that from happening. Anyone who claims God is on their side is dangerous as hell. The quotes below are just a small number that could be posted here, but I hope they'll be enough to make my point.
Quote from: John Ashcroft, 5/8/99
Unique among the nations, America recognized the source of our character as being godly and eternal, not being civic and temporal. And because we have understood that our source is eternal, America has been different. We have no king but Jesus.
Quote from: Bishop O’Connor, Pittsburgh
The tolerance of liberty can be maintained until complete federal and state control by Catholics has been accomplished.
Quote from: Beverly LaHaye (Concerned Women for America)
Yes, religion and politics do mix. America is a nation based on biblical principles. Christian values dominate our government. The test of those values is the Bible. Politicians who do not use the Bible to guide their public and private lives do not belong in office.
Quote from: Paul Weyrich, Founder/President, Free Congress Foundation
We are talking about Christianizing America. We are talking about spreading the gospel in a political context.
Quote from: Robert Simmonds
Atheistic secular humanists should be removed from office and Christians should be elected...Government and true Christianity are inseperable.
Quote from: Ralph Reed
What Christians have got to do is take back this country one precinct at a time, one neighborhood at a time, and one state at a time...I honestly believe that in my lifetime we will see a country once again governed by Christians.
Quote from: Randall Terry, founder, Operation Rescue
I want you to let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hatred is good...Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a biblical duty, we are called by God, to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want pluralism.
Quote from: Beverly LaHaye, Concerned Women for America
Christian values should dominate our government. The test of those values is the Bible. Politicians who do not use the Bible to guide their public and private lives do not belong in office.
Quote from: Jerry Falwell
The idea that religion and politics don't mix was invented by the devil to keep Christians from running their own country.
Quote from: Randall Terry
When I, or people like me are running the country, you'd better flee, because we will find you, and we will execute you. I mean every word of it. I will make it part of my mission to see to it that they are tried and executed...If we're going to have true reformation in America, it is because men once again, if I may use a worn out expression, have a righteous testosterone flowing through their veins. They are not afraid of contempt by their contemporaries. They are not here to get along. They are here to take over.
Quote from: AOL post, author unknown
Christians around the country are preparing for war. Our churches are stockpiling weapons, and we are going forth with the might of the Lord. We have been preparing while the sodomites and sinners have been focusing on themselves. They have tried taking over our country, but when we strike, we will strike hard. We are the ones with the guns. We are the ones with the power and might. We are the majority! The constitution and courts have betrayed us, but we will take over and set the Bible as law for our Christian land. The Bible states that America must be a Christian nation once again for the Lord to come in Rapture. So hide now, but we know and the Lord knows your shadows. And remember - we have the backing of a Christian president who will lead us. Your liberal ways will end. The alarm is about to ring. Come to Christ now or perish!

"Jesus offers us salvation"
Why should I accept an offer from someone that has a criminal record?
Would you accept an offer from Charles Manson?
"Jesus gives you a CHOICE. You can worship him, or you can
burn in Hell. He is letting YOU decide. That is an act of love."
Someone who really loves you doesn't threaten you with hell or anything
like it. The Bible has no record of "free will"* really expressed ever.**
"a 'Christian theocracy' as you call it would be a good thing."
I bet you can't even think of economic or political solutions for current problems domestically after you've got your Theocracy. I wouldn't you want you to be my representative, much less a policymaker.
"Salvation comes through FAITH ALONE, not through good deeds."
WRONG! The requirements for salvation are belief (Mark 16:16, John 3:16,18,36), confession of that belief (Rom 10:9-10), maintaining the belief (Heb 6:4-6, 2 Peter 2:20-21), repenting (Acts 2:38, Acts 3:19, Luke 13:3), being baptized (Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16), and performing some good works (Matt 25:41-46).***
Feel embarrassed yet?
You promoting propaganda full of lies that your own "holy" scriptures don't even support.

I don't hate christianity, but the main thing I find unforgivable about the christian God is that someone who is very nice can suffer in hell for all eternity simply for not believing in him, but the most evil person alive can accept Jesus and be saved. Isn't that letting ones ego get a little out of hand when it's more important to believe in him then to be a good person? And anyways, even if you are a bad person in real life, should you truly suffer for all eternity, especially if you realize that you were wrong and beg for forgiveness, why should you burn in hell for all eternity if he's a loving God? And he expects you to believe in him even though he is purposing avoiding giving any evidence for himself, but is instead allowing evidence to come up that supports just the opposite.
And then you say he's letting us decide, which is somehow an act of love even though the decision is basically that you can take a blind leap of faith (and the correct blind leap of faith, mind you. There are many other religions out there), or burn in hell for all eternity.

Not all atheists hate Christianity and vice-versa. The problem is that people can be dum%$^es sometimes and forget what they learned in their belief system.
Another reason why some atheists hate Christianity is people like you. If you could just tone down on the fundamentalism and don't tell people that if they don't worship Christ they will burn in hell, then atheists might respect you. Only people who are morally evil and bad deserve to be in hell. I believe that even a non-believer in Christ can go to heaven if he or she does good to others.

Oh wow...I don't hate Christianity and I'm an atheist. But to say that people that don't worship god will burn in "hell" is pretty strong...is that what you've learned? Just because people don't worship god doesn't mean were all horrible people in fact I'm sure a lot of atheists are morally better then you just by reading this...

You just demonstrated why I hate it.
You're saying I DESERVE eternal torment because I didn't believe something, no matter how nice or kind a person I am. And you don't see what's wrong with this?
I feel sorry for you.
And even if this god turns out to be real, at least I can say I lived a life of intellectual and moral integrity. It's more than you and your god could ever say.
EDIT: You call this a choice? God is like a bully that pushes you into the ocean, pulls out a life preserver and says "Who wants to NOT drown?". Wow, what a loving and caring guy......
Never mind the fact that he/she/it lets millions of children starve to death annually. And all those poor animals that get eaten alive by their predators, and all those people that die in natural disasters, all those people that died because god didn't tell them about disease or how to prevent it. But Jesus is love right? The hypocrisy is glaringly obvious. I'll tell you what else is obvious: Your god don't exist.

One might argue that christians cannot prove god or heaven and hell exist, but neither can atheists prove they do not. The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. As far as negativity is concerned it would seem atheists hold a bigger grudge, if you do not believe me count the number of proclaimed atheists belittling and demeaning compared to the number of christians doing the same. No offense to either side I am just saying what I see from a non-christian non-atheist perspective because I am neither.

I dont hate anyone,
if you want to believe there is something like "god" ok cool, as long as I am not being forced to it by religious people.
FYI:
You think we'll burn in hell, I think when I die then the game is over, that's it, no more, just over.
And I am really cool with that ;o)

I'm not an atheist, I believe in a kind and loving higher power - and it is not the god named Yaweh of the bible. The god Yaweh, of the bible, is a sadistic, murderous jealous, monster - an ancient mesopotamian god of war, and you all worship and personify that monstrous evil in your own lives. That's why I hate Christians, because you are evil.

you are the one telling me if i don't believe in your god i'll go to hell... explain me again, how am i hating you here?
jesus is just the opposite of christianity: his views are philanthropic (love everyone), pacifist (make no war) and individual (created his own beliefs).
christianity says everyone who doesn't share their point of view will burn in hell...
christianity has a history full of wars and killing...
christianity doesn't want you to think, only to follow and be sheep...
and a question to think about: what if christianity isn't the "right" religion? what if islam is? or hinduism? or any other religion (there are lots of them)???
you are a christian only because you inherited it from your parents... just like that you could be muslim or hindu and you would state that every non muslim, or non hindu would go to hell...
