Controversial Topics?

I have to make an essay about any kind controversial topic (abortion, rape, gay marriage, mainstream music, etc., whatever I am interested in) and give my opinion about it. This is one of the most important tasks that I will have in my high school history, I have to start this month and hand it in December (yeah, huge reserch). Can you help me to pick a topic?

I wanted to make about abortion, rape or gay marriage, but they won’t let me because those are way too common topics. So these are my ideas:

The Tunisia Effect (Egypt, Lybia, etc.)

Harry Potter (it really is controversial)

Social Networks

I really am desperate so if you have any other ideas can you help me please?

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We extend our sincerest gratitude to Professor Jose Ricarte B. Origenes of the College of Nursing, for his constant support, guidance and motivation, who helped the group immensely in completing this project. The project provided us with an opportunity to understand the fundamentals of research methods in a better manner and apply them in everyday life. The insistence on taking up a socially relevant topic like the use of social networking sites helped us to understand the psychology of the people using these sites better...

Abortion: One Of The Most Controversial Topics Today

Abortion: One of the Most Controversial Topics Today

In the early American Colonies, English Common Law was adopted by the United States, which declared abortion forbidden. The procedure was ruled a misdemeanor if performed before quickening, which meant "feeling life," and a felony if performed after quickening. In the early 1800s, it was discovered that life begins at conception and not when the mother "feels life." Eighty-five percent of the states had laws that made all abortions a felony. Between the 1800s and today, many arguments have taken place regarding when life begins for a fetus and to what extent the mother has a right to terminate her pregnancy (Fast Facts: History of the U.S. Abortion Laws, 2003). There have been numerous attempts to change the current laws and/or add to them and the majority of these attempts have failed. The most famous law of them all resulted from the case of Roe v. Wade , is still in effect today and forms the basis for abortion laws and arguments...

If your father was not Christian then he did not inherit heaven - by clear scripture. And the only people who end up in hell are those who willfully reject the only source of their salvation -- Jesus Christ. We hope and pray that you are not among these. You surely don't have to be. But you must come to a consenus with your beliefs. We are commanded to love the Lord more than our parents. Your father has passed. And nothing more can be done for him. Live for yourself now. Ask Jesus into your heart that he may save your soul. Otherwise, you too shall perish. Jhn 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Jhn 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. Christian scripture states that as a Christian, your mother should not have married an unbeliever. This is what happens to their children - uncertainty and indecision. Jam 1:8 A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways. Mal 2:15 Didn't the LORD make you one with your wife? In body and spirit you are his. And what does he want? Godly children from your union.

Great question. I'll go down the list and give you my opinion. The Tunisia Effect would be difficult to write about because there are so many unknowns. It might be a great challenge to tackle though. Harry Potter is strictly for entertainment and it doesn't really have any worldly influence. People talk about it having "hidden messages" but I am not aware of any situations that give credit to Harry Potter. Social Networks would be excellent because it has revolutionized and damaged this generation as well as the upcoming generation. I think you should go with that one. Good luck to you.
