i need a good job opportunity idea?

I am in college to be a cop. i am also on my volunteer fire dept. I applied to be a dispatched at a local police station but i dont think they are hiring. Any other idea that would involve these careers? just an entry job that can help me buy my gas for the truck. I was thinking of applying at an emergency dispatch center, but idk who makes the calls. Its one station that sends us our tones for all the surrounding depts and stuff. how can i find out who does it? what would it be called? and any other jobs in mind i could do?
