I remember a song played on a big band station called "the man comes around" I think. I thought it was by Ozzie Nelson but not sure. a bit of the lines were "oh the man comes around nearly every single day he only comes around when poppa goes away." who was this and what was the title?

    The song was first recorded by The Sweet Violet Boys under the title "There’s a Man that Comes to Our House" in May, 1937, which was copyrighted by their piano player, Bob Miller, in the late 1920's. But your probably referring to the version by The Tommy Tucker Orchestra, also known as Tommy Tucker Time, recorded in 1940. A version was also recorded by Nat Gonella and His New Georgians.
