I need help finding a car for a decent price with SOME POWER.?
I'm looking for a good car for around 9000-12000. I want a car with at least 200hp, newer then 2003 but doesn't have mechanical issues. I really like the 2006-07 Mazda RX8's, but I know they have pretty bad engine problems because they were newly developed rotary engines when they came out in the first RX8's in 2004. I know some people will laugh when I say this, but I want some moderate power.........but also automatic. I never have and never will like a manual, that's just how I am. I've looked at RX8's, s2000's(which I hate) 350z's, and Nissan Maximas. I like the look and the power and the price of the RX8, but the problems make the other cars look better even if they cost another grand or two. I'm really looking for a car that won't need a lot of money put into it, unless it's upgrades that I want. I'm really looking for some suggestions/help into what cars I might be missing out there that fit my criteria. I feel like if I go with the RX8, it'll be great for the first year MAYBE, then I'll have to replace the engine which will cost almost as much as the car. SUGGESTIONS PLEASE..... GIVING BEST ANSWER!!

It sounds like you have a good idea of what you want. First do not trust any dealers. Do your homework. Check sites on the web that rate the car you are interested in. Talk to people who have the type of car you are interested in. You have to live with your decision, no one else matters. Get what you want and what makes you happy. Check consumer reports
Good luck,
Bill

the rotary has been around for a long time, 30 years if not longer, i am looking at info that states that it was developed in the early 1930s. the rx8 is not a great deal different, with a different entry point for the air flow and efi along with greater computer controls. you can not let it run hot with out expecting to rebuild it due to apex seal damage. getting 200 horses might be a stretch though. look for a car from the 60s and a well known history and a name that means some thing, like my favorite, the GTO.

Do not buy a RX-8, they use ALOT of fuel, and ALOT of oil, they are hard to work on, they are just junk unless you can work on them, buy a real car, buy an american muscle (camaro, mustang).
