Lenses for my Canon EOS Rebel Xs?
Hello, soon I'm hoping to get a Canon EOS Rebel Xs :D My friend told me that her sister has one with a macro lens, and I looked at her pictures and they are amaaaziinnng! So I was wondering what a macro lens was, where I could get one, and how much they would cost? Thankyouuu! c: And would you recommend any lenses? I basically just want to go into beginner photography...I was also thinking of getting a fish eye lens, any information on them? I'm not sure if they're all the same or whatever. Oh, and I don't have a million dollars to spend on lenses because I'm 15 :P

I would recommend anyone to learn the kitlens first.

Macro and fisheye lenses are specialized. Both types cost at least $400 or more. You should use the lens that cones with your camera for at least a year to get to know your camera before you try to figure out what other lenses you need. Buying a bunch if lenses and splitting your time between them when you are new to DSLR cameras is a sure way to make sure to get mediocre photos from all your lenses. Learning how to use each lens and the perspectives each allows us very important and takes time. Each new lens changes your camera enough that it will be like learning a new camera each time.

Get a Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8. It takes amazing pictures and is the cheapest lens out there made by Canon. I promise you'll take great pictures with it. Don't waste your time with a real fish eye. Get an adapter for your kit lens and you'll be just as happy. In your case I think you are looking for cheap and these are cheap but still really fun to use.
