I got 2tattoos yesterday morning, i kept the clingfilm on for couple of hours, then.....?
took it off and washed them. I then put on some Bepanthan (nappy cream).
How often should i apply the cream and for how long? Is it normal for there to b colouring in the cream after applying?
How long on average do tattoos take to heal? One is on my wrist and the other larger on my lower leg.
Thank you
No the ink is not bleeding. I just noticed tht there was flicks of colour as i rubbed cream on... kind of like the outline.

It's good you took off the cling wrap. That suffocates the tattoo if it's left on for too long. You can use the cream/ointment for 3-4 days, then you can switch to unscented white lotion. Make sure you are washing it GENTLY with antibacterial soap, and dabbing it dry. Apply a thin layer of lotion afterward. Tattoos usually take 2-3 weeks to heal. Every tattoo is different.
I use Rocco's Old School on my tattoos. All natural. Heals fast and healthy.

My aftercare advice was to keep up the aftercare 2 or 3 times every day until the scabbing/peeling had finished, but I didn't use bepanthan so you may only need to apply that for a little while and then switch to an unscented lotion. I'm unfortunately not aware of how long it's suggested to use bepanthan for. Perhaps you could call the shop/artist you saw and check with them.
It is normal to see some color oozing for the first day or two until the scabs form, then as they fall off there is likely to be color in the flakes as well, which is also normal.
On average it'll take between 2-3 weeks to heal. You'll know it's fully healed when all the scabbing/peeling has finished.

I got my first tattoo a few months ago, and the tattooist advised I used bepanthen too.
I was told to apply it 4 times a day for 2 weeks, and to continue to use it after the 2 weeks if my skin there still felt dry/flaky.
I was also told not to get it too wet, so avoid having long showers etc, and not to scrub at it or scratch it.
The first few times I applied the cream little flecs of colour came away when I rubbed it in, but this soon stopped and my tattoo looks fine now so it's nothing to worry about.
Hope this helps,
xx

I've just has a tattoo done and am using bepanthen... Apply it once the tattoo has absorbed the cream so say every few hours for about 2 weeks.
The colour in the cream will probably where you haven't washed it fully and it could be what's left over by the tattooist-nothing to worry about here.
It will take about 2 weeks to heal, remember no swimming or bathing (you can shower though) bur don't emerse your tattoo in water until it has healed.
Hope this helps...

You should apply the cream every time you feel your tattoo getting try (youll know it...it gets super tight). Make sure you keep it moist.
Is the ink bleeding? If so thats not normal. But if its flaking and peeling then that it, its just the tattoo healing.
On average about 6 weeks for maximum healing time.
