Depends ENTIRELY on your pain threshold, if you think getting a shot is EXCRUTIATINGLY painful, DONT DO IT. For they WILL use a needle to penetrate the skin and place the piercing in place, and then the clamp to secure it permanently, unless of course you choose to remove it. And how fast the process is depends entirely upon how well you cooperate with the piercer and how professional and experienced they are. The breathing technique doesn't lower the pain so much as relax you so that you will not feel the pain as intensely. Healing a naval piercing can vary anywhere from 6 months up to 2 years, depending how fast your body naturally heals and how well you disinfect and take care of your piercing. And most DEFINITELY be sure to wear loose fitting shirts until it is AT LEAST mostly healed, constant rubbing against tight clothing will only piss it off and make it that much more susceptible to infection. YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT. Personally I don't find any problem in wearing a waterproof patch over your new piercing to go swimming, actually the water might help both heal faster and keep the soreness at bay. Which I forgot to mention will probably be sore for a month or two. Just don't be so strenuous as to tear the piercing from your flesh, that hurts like a bitc*!
* I follow the same rule of thumb for any form of body modification; from implants to tattoos to piercings, if it's not meaningful to be found worthy enough to endure some potentially serious pain, DONT DO IT. You will only ever regret it.

1. On a scale of 1-10, how bad does it hurt?
I literally didnt feel it. Id give it a 1-2
2. Is it true that it's mostly the clamp that hurts the worst?
I think the clamp made it so I couldn't feel it. The clamp just makes pressure.
3. How fast is it over with?
The paper work and waiting is the worst part, but the actually piercing takes seconds.
4. Will it make me sick or pass out?
I fainted when I got my spiral (industrial 2hole spiral) but that was because i was SO nervous. If youre worried about fainting, eat some candy before you go to raise your blood sugar, that way youre far less likely to faint.
5. If i'm ticklish around my belly button, would it hurt me as bad?
If the skin is thicker than itd probably hurt more than someone with thinner skin.
6. Does the breathe-in/breathe-out technique really work to lower the pain?
Yes it takes your mind off the pain.
7. How long is it sore for?
FOREVER! The worst part was the healing process, it takes such a looonggg time and you have to clean it a million times a day or else it will get infected. Mine kept getting a little ripped if i jumped or did anything really active and it was really irritated. You cant feel it after it gets pierced but if anything rubs it or irritates it then itd be sore.
8. Should i wear loose clothing afterwards?
It doesnt matter much.
9. If i wanna go swimming after it's done, can i wear a waterproof patch over it?
I wouldnt risk it...
10. Is it 100% worth the pain?
Now that mine is healed fully, it is my favorite piercing. Deff worth it.
