Are the 8 senators quitting in 2012 a sign that they know even worse woes are ahead?

Whether or not they have a crystal ball is a matter of conjecture. What normally happens when a party takes a massive hit such as one the democrats took this last election is that the senators lose their chairmanships. Without those they are basically empty suits. No sense in hanging out in the dog pound without a bone.

It shows how screwed up Capital Hill has become. If they are any indication then yes the worst is yet to come
