can I install an old 5.25in floppy drive on a newer computer to play my old DOS games?

This is probably a shot in the dark but I found all my old DOS games I used to play as a kid in a box recently. Some are on CD's, some are on 3.5in floppy disks, and most of the really cool old ones are on huge 5.25in floppy disks. Its really cool that the DOSbox emulator i can get for free online will allow me to play my old games but the trouble is, how do i play the games that are on the 5.25in floppies. My first computer with the 5.25in floppy drive is long gone but i do have a newer computer. So the question is, if I could get my hands on an old 5.25in floppy drive, is there some way i could install it on my newer computer and have it read my disks? I saw a cool video on youtube of a newer computer runnin these old disks on an ancient drive so I have some hope that this is possible. Any information is gladly appreciated! Thanks!

Just find an old computer with that floppy drive. Archive the disk. Email the resultant file. Done.

The connections are most likely different. You'll need adapters to make it work, but they should be available to connect to a newer computer via USB ports. However, there's no guarantee that a newer operating system will recognize the old drive. So......unfortunately, it'll be strictly a trial and error thing. The upside is that you can probably try this and have less than $20 involved......

The connections are maximum in all probability diverse. you'll want adapters to make it artwork, yet they should be accessible to attach with a more beneficial moderen pc through USB ports. notwithstanding, there's no make particular that a more beneficial moderen operating equipment will understand the oldcontinual. So......regrettably, it will be strictly an ordeal and blunder situation. The upside is that you'll likely do this and performance lower than $20 in contact......

No. Not with XP or higher. Probably not even with ME or 2000.
