painting fumes, dangerous?

i painted my room a week ago, and it still smells really heavy and bad in there. I also been sleeping there all that week even the day we first painted. Now everything i go in there or wake up i wake up with headaches and my nose cant take it anymore. My window is opens at times. Is this dangerous? I know if you smell too much you get brain damage, have i gotten to that point. is been a week. should i just not sleep there anymore till all the smell comes out?

It depends largely on the type of paint, but if you are getting frequent headaches that is bad enough. I suggest sleeping in another room. Having headaches due to paint fumes is miserable, I've had that experience.
