Steve Stamkos question?
The most points in the league by a non-Sedin and the clear cut winner for the Rocket Richard trophy since Crosby's injuries, he's clearly the real deal at a young age. I noticed an interesting stat of his, however: He is tied for 9th in the league in minor penalties, at 28. He's right up there with usual suspects like Ott, Cooke, Backes and the like. Looking through the top 25 in the category, the only other real "all-stars" are Briere and Perry, but they have a grit to their game that as far as I know Stamkos does not possess.
I don't watch many Tampa games, but do his 28 minors show that he still has a lot of growing and maturing to do as a player? He averages 20 minutes a game on ice and 1 in the box. Thoughts?

I think he's capable of producing these numbers for the rest of his career (if not better with experience). He's got a great shot. Stamkos plays hard, and oppositions play him hard.
Bruce Boudreau recently called him a diver, which I think is total BS, Ive seen the replay that Boudreau was refering to an in no way was it a dive.
Im sure he will mature, he might be a little bit of a hot head at the moment but I dont think its detrimental to his game, its just that he's a young guy, with plenty of fire to him. He's gotta fight through alot of coverage to make things happen, and minor penalties are a result of this. He's a great two way players as well, backchecking hard also contributes to his penalty minutes.
In terms of fantasy hockey, he's produced a great amount of offense (G41, A38), a fair number of penalty minutes (PIM66), a masssive amount of power play points (PPP32), and blasted tons of rubber on net (SoG225) and is +7 and on a so-so Tampa team (keep in mind Vinny Lecavlier is -5)
He is 100% owned in all yahoo fantasy leagues and he's currently ranked #3 overall, behind Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin.
I would love to have this kid on my team, unfortunatly I dont.
Ill be sure to try and draft him in next year's draft if he's available. He'll be only getting better with more experience.

Yes, I think he's definitely got a lot of potential. He hasn't reached his max level of play yet.
