Question about airfare?
So, right now a round trip ticket to New York (Seattle and back) in the beginning of May is going to run me approximately $370 for a round trip ticket. The problem, however, is that I'm having a scheduling conflict and I don't want to buy the ticket right away.
Is it likely that the prices will drop anymore than they already are or should I expect a significant fare hike if I continue to wait?

never expect airfare to drop. ALWAYS expect it to rise if you wait.

A good way to determine whether you can wait or not is go to the airline's website for the flights you are looking at taking and call up the seat maps for those flights, most airlines let you view the seat maps prior to booking. If the flight looks pretty full then fares will only increase but if its looking pretty empty then its likely the fare will remain the same or possibly go lower. Do take into account when looking at seat maps that some rows can be held back for assignment at check-in such as bulkhead and exit rows so most flights when looking at the seat map look fuller than they really are.

Tough to say but you can probably expect a price increase. i would check some websites like Kayak.com or something like that. You will likely be able to find cheaper flights in your general area.
Good luck!

They aren't going to drop. They may stay the same, or start going up.
