I'm a somewhat lonely person who is just trying to take life one day at a time. I really don't know what else to explain. :P
Multiple inquiries on my credit.?
Over the course of a year (since turning 18 in January 2011), I have probably applied for at least 10 credit cards. I'm curious how this will affect my credit rating. I was recently approved for a $700 line of credit through my bank, wells fargo, which, to date, I have paid off in full every month.
I'm looking to build credit, but I am worried that these numerous credit inquiries will hurt me. I am also very ignorant of how credit works, so anything you can fill me in on would be much appreciated.
3 AnswersCredit9 years agoIs it safe to restore brand new iPhone 4S with a backup of my iPod touch?
I just purchased an iPhone 4S. I'd like to have the songs from my iPod on my iPhone to cut down on the amount of devices I carry with me. Is it safe to restore the iPhone with a backup of the iPod? Are there any known problematic outcomes stemming from doing this? Thanks!
3 AnswersMusic & Music Players9 years agoQuestion regarding sleeping pills?
So, this is kind of a stupid question but I get paranoid over trivial things.
I took two western family (over the counter) sleep aid gel pills. The recommended dosage is one at bedtime. Thing is, one is never enough and never puts me to sleep. Should I have much to worry about now that I've doubled the recommended dosage? I've got to be up for work in roughly 6 hours and I don't want to sleep through all 3 of my alarm clocks.
Thank you much!
2 AnswersAlternative Medicine10 years agoQuestion about airfare?
So, right now a round trip ticket to New York (Seattle and back) in the beginning of May is going to run me approximately $370 for a round trip ticket. The problem, however, is that I'm having a scheduling conflict and I don't want to buy the ticket right away.
Is it likely that the prices will drop anymore than they already are or should I expect a significant fare hike if I continue to wait?
4 AnswersAir Travel1 decade agoFor anyone who works/worked at starbucks?
So, I have a job interview this coming Wednesday at Starbucks at noon. I'm curious what kind of questions I should expect. Also, do they commonly hire new partners promptly? My last job (or current job I should say) which was at a supermarket hired me right after the interview. Can I expect that same from sbux?
1 AnswerCorporations1 decade agoGetting rid of my Mother's problematic love interest?
Let me give you a little background on my situation. My mom has been dating this guy off and on for about 7 months. In this time, he has cheated on her multiple times, been fired from his job (she's been supporting him financially as a result), ran back to his ex of 13 years (which, I suppose, also goes hand-in-hand with cheating on her).
He's a complete slime ball, and I hold contempt for him for everything he's done to my Mother. The issue at hand is that she keeps taking him back despite the slew of transgressions I listed above. My Mother is morbidly terrified of being alone and allows him to slither his way back into her life as a result. She isn't in the least bit happy, and he causes her more pain than happiness.
A few things to note:
- He has a few warrants for his arrest
- He has $250,000 - $300,000 worth of back taxes from the last 10 years
- He routinely drives while under the influence of alcohol (I've got an anonymous DUI tipline for that)
It has come to the point where I need to find something to drive him out of her life. I would like to ask you guys what you think the right course of action for me would be. Another important thing to note is that I live with my Mom (I'm only 18), and I've had a front row seat to their tumultuous relationship for nearly a year now.

1 AnswerLaw & Ethics1 decade agoFirst time unsecured credit card?
I turned 18 yesterday. In hopes of building my credit, I decided to apply for a capital one classic platinum credit card, in which my application was promptly rejected. I am confused because I was recommended that card for a starter card and I have no bad marks on my credit (or lack thereof).
What are some unsecured credit cards that accept applicants with no credit history?
2 AnswersCredit1 decade agoHow do you move back and forth using the T-mobile G2 (easy question)?
Last night I bought a t-mobile G2 htc brand phone. One thing I've noticed is the lack of arrow keys on the slide-out keyboard. As a result I do not know how to move spaces back and forth.
How is this accomplished with this phone?
1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoGood starter credit card for an 18 year old?
I'm contemplating applying for a credit card in hopes of building my credit. Ideally I'd like something with a credit line of over $500. Interest isn't all that much a concern.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations.
3 AnswersCredit1 decade agoDoes it matter that I never got my food handlers' permit?
I work at a supermarket and I was instructed to show proof of my food handler permit back in January. I never got around to doing it and they didn't bother to hassle me about it again. Could this potentially be a problem in the future with my employer?
1 AnswerGovernment1 decade agoiPod touch sound issues?
So, in short, my iPod touch 2nd generation was experiencing sound problems for a couple of months. The problem would start with sound cutting out as I would move around (I couldn't leave the iPod in my pocket for instance because it would move too much), and I would have to fiddle with the base of the earbuds just for the sound to come back.
I called apple and explained the problem - they agreed to repair my iPod touch. My question is, has anyone else experienced anything else like this? Do you think they are going to be able to repair the problem? If I had to lay my bet on the problem, I'd say a few of the sound pins were lose or something alone those lines.
2 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoGrowing animosity towards my mother?
My Mom has been seeing this guy off and on for about 7 months now, let's call him John. I really dislike this guy, because he began cheating on his Wife with my Mother. Seeing as my Mother and his Wife were really good friends before, it repulsed me that my own Mom would commit such a repugnant and backstabbing act. It doesn't help that John has also lied to my Mother countless times about various things, only to manipulate her into giving him another chance because he tells her what she wants to hear. It's utterly pathetic.
Now onto specifics:
They have really loud sex almost every night that he comes over. He tries to be buddy buddy with me when he notices how frustrated his being here makes me. Honestly, I don't really have any interest in being civil with this guy. I don't think I have it in me to warm up to someone who is such a douchebag on so many levels.
I'm 17 (Turn 18 in January), and I've really been considering moving out shortly after my Birthday. I don't know if this is the best way to tell my Mom that I'm disgusted with her and how much of a low priority she's made me as of late, but I don't see any other options for me.
2 AnswersFamily1 decade agoA credit card to get at 18?
************Note: I do not need replies consisting of "Don't get a credit card. You'll just bury yourself in debt" etc. I have a steady income at my current age of 17 and I feel as though I can handle the responsibility of a credit card***************
Now.. I'm more or less concerned about getting approved at 18 with virtually no credit as I've had relatively few financial commitments as a minor. I would just like the names of a few credit cards that are lenient enough to approve people with credit that's a work in progress. Ideally I would like a low interest rate, but I'm also not going to be too picky in my situation.
Thanks in advance!
8 AnswersCredit1 decade agoCo-worker drinking on the job?
I work at a neighborhood grocery store and I've been there around a year now. There's a cashier by the name of Eric. You see, Eric has the smell of alcohol on his breath almost all of the time he's at work. I would normally just bite my tongue and ignore the indiscretion, but the problem is he is a very mean person when intoxicated. The guy keeps a cantine filled with grey goose vodka under the checkstand. And when he feels that passively sipping down booze in public becomes noticeable, he'll begin taking abnormally long bathroom breaks. Upon returning he will just descend into furthered drunken rage. He will randomly yell at other workers, make snarky comments directed at customers and just overall I think he is a complete and utter nightmare to work with.
Taking my concerns to management, I feel is out of the question. Eric has 15 years tenure at my store and the supervisors are wrapped around his finger. We are a unionized workplace, so could they be of any help? Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
3 AnswersLaw & Legal1 decade agoiPod touch internal sound problem?
I've been experiencing a problem for the past week and a half or so. The problem is that whenever I move the iPod around (in my pocket for instance) the sound cuts out. This also happens when I touch the base of the earbuds. I know it isn't a problem with the earbuds, because I just had them replaced the day after I started experiencing the problem.
If it makes any difference, I just recently downloaded a software update on my iPod touch.
Also, please don't tell me to call apple. I can figure that much out on my own.
2 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agohow to restrict certain people on facebook?
I was told there was a feature on facebook that allowed you to restrict people on your friends list from commenting/viewing your statuses or view certain albums and the like.
Can someone explain how exactly this is done? I've looked through the privacy options and can't find anything like this. Thanks in advance.
5 AnswersFacebook1 decade agoAlbum art not copying to iPod Touch?
So, I had several songs that I transferred from a CD awhile back and I wanted to add the album artwork to said songs. I've had no issues retrieving the album artwork from apple, but the problem is that the artwork is not copying to my iTouch upon synchronization. What could I be doing wrong here?
1 AnswerMusic & Music Players1 decade agoI think I like my friend ..?
To give you guys a little background:
I have a friend, let's call him Brian. I really like Brian and Brian has made several subtle hints over the past few months that he possibly feels the same way. The thing is, though, they are ambiguous enough to be passed off as jokes. I'd really like to push our relationship forward, but I'm also very reclusive. I'm afraid that by making him aware of my feelings I'll put an unredeemable strain on our friendship. I also have no evidence that Brian likes other guys aside from the few passes he's made at me.
Do you guys have any advice for me on how to approach him?
5 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoIs CelebrityNetWorth.com accurate?
Some of the results seem pretty distorted. I mean, $25.5 Million for Justin Bieber? That's more than twice as much as Kelly Clarkson's net worth and she's sold more albums as well as toured more than Bieber, so I find it hard to believe.
I don't know, thoughts?
