Question regarding sleeping pills?
So, this is kind of a stupid question but I get paranoid over trivial things.
I took two western family (over the counter) sleep aid gel pills. The recommended dosage is one at bedtime. Thing is, one is never enough and never puts me to sleep. Should I have much to worry about now that I've doubled the recommended dosage? I've got to be up for work in roughly 6 hours and I don't want to sleep through all 3 of my alarm clocks.
Thank you much!

No - it will be OK - just don't swallow the whole bottle.
Those OTC sleeping pills are generally anti-histamines. They make you drowsy. The odd thing is that histamines do all manner of things in the human body - and one thing they do is keep you awake. In the morning when it's time to wake up, your histamine levels go through the roof. They're probably excitatory chemicals which excite the brain.
And when you can't sleep at night, one explanation is that you have too much histamine in your brain. So you can use those OTC pills or probably any anti-histamines - there's many.
You might also try a few mgs of Melatonin - it's a hormone which the body produces to help you sleep and stay asleep. You can get that at the drug store OTC. Try 5 mgs to start - I've taken 15 mgs - and it does make me a little drowsy.
