Question about Asperger's?

Ok, so here's the deal. I fit pretty much all the symptoms of Asperger's, and on this page ( http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/aspergers-syndrom... ) it says on the very first one that "Engaging in one-sided, long-winded conversations, without noticing if the listener is listening or trying to change the subject" is a symptom... so many of the aspies I hear about are the less social side... so how common is this symptom really? I mean... it describes me to a T. I actually have people raise their hands sometimes when I'm talking. usually family, that has known me, and dealt with my "long-windedness" for quite a while. But I very rarely hear about this when reading all these questions, etc. I talk pretty damn fast too... and have people asking me to slow down. I know it isn't bi-polar, before anyone says that, and i fit many of the other AS symptoms, so just curious if I'm even more unique than i already think I am LOL Any other aspies feel like this? (I'm self diagnosed for now but will set something up with a doctor when I can afford to, so no need to say go to the doctor either LOL Oh yeah, and in my long convoluted conversations, I DO tend to say things that I shouldn't.

We vary enormously, so yes, too quiet and too talkative can both fit with Asperger's.

Sometimes both in the same individual: gushing forth about their special interests, and barely a word when they are not the topic.

Unusual pace, tone or volume of speech are all possible. As is sounding perfectly normal.

Having trouble with non-literal speech or taking a delight in word play and puns...

(The latter using the high attention and observation skills which are quite often present.)

Hang on, how can anyone be "more unique..."?

It's as bad as a product being advertised as "New and improved". One or the other, surely?

Yes, I like words, and have a formal diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome.

lots of aspies are talkative about singular subjects and fail to notice body English for when to shut up.

its not a deal to get a diagnosis

couple of paper tests and about 50 questions from the physiotherapist and you done

the drug tenex diminished this symptom for me = i can actually change the subject now without feeling slighted or left out
