Where does the front panel of the steering wheel go when the airbag is deployed?

    There is a built in seam or seams that allow the front panel to open in the middle, and the pieces of the panel swing open. All pieces remain attached to the air bag unit.

    It blows open but different models have weird characteristics ask a auto body man for a accurate answer.

    I think it gets ripped open, it would be pretty bad if it gets launched at your face :P
