Members of organized religions, I have a question for you?

I understand why people believe in God. I believe in God. What I don't understand is why you think *your* particular book and set of rules is the correct one while all differing beliefs are incorrect.

The answer of "faith" only gets you as far as "why do you believe in God?" It doesn't answer the question, "why do you believe *this* book instead of *that* book."

Thanks for any insight.

Try coming at this from GOD's perspective.

There is only one GOD possible; the Creator of the universe & all else.

That GOD has tried to reveal himself to all peoples, through all ages.

Every religion is a response to mankind's perception of that revelation.

So the one which is best for you, is the one that Makes most sense to you.

    Seek & you will find.

The Bible is one of the oldest, if not the oldest (started in 1513 B.C.E.) literary literature, surviving into modern history. It itself reveals that it itself is inspired of God, no other holy writings make such a claim. There is nothing in the Bible that can so far be investigated that has ever been proven untrue. Even the principles found in this book which is over 3500 years old still prove to be practical and never needs changing or revision, like all the uninspired books of man. The Bible tells of the origin of life before, during and beyond the creation of mankind. It reveals how we came to be, how we should live and where humanity will eventually go in the future. The Bible is the best selling book around the world and has been for many decades. It is the most distributed book globally. There is a reason why it has survived despite attempts to destroy it and why most households have one. The world will know who God is before it is all over.

The proof is in the pudding. To convict a criminal all you need is one witness. In the (as a reference point) Christian bible, there were sworn testimonies of hundreds who knew and walked with Christ personally. All were in written form and they translate to even the Koran (some stories). All books of faith have references towards Christ and the Father. My parents weren't into indoctrination...I chose my religion though I don't side with any methodists, catholics...etc.!

Personally, I believe the Holy Bible is humbled by the New testament where Christ comes and changes EVERYTHING! Some call this Hypocrisy...I call this "intended". The old testament, from beginning to end, told of the coming of Christ who would "change" everything. He did! I believe this bible because the stories have been proven true...not false.

In the end...we will all bow down whether we believe or not and on that day...ALL WILL BELIEVE-only for most it will be too late.

I began to understand your question until you stated you believe in God. Is that to say you do or don't have faith in Him?

Also, Christ was not a pedophile as was the muhammed character of the Koran. But those people have their reasons to follow that book for other more gross reasons!

Well If, you are a Christian and you claim to follow the teachings of The Lord Christ Jesus...I would like to know "How come you folks do the complete opposite of what Jesus said?" For example, "Jesus denied being GOD @ St. John 20:17;" He also said "That greater works than His will be done @ St. John 14:12;" and @ St. Matthews 9:37 - He told His disciples "The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few;" but those of you that claim to be Christians refuse to Honor Christ Jesus teachings in the New Testament.

How is it that you folks don't understand "that when a person laborers/works according to GOD'S WILL & PURPOSE ( I say this not to shout but to show my respect for my GOD ) that such a person comes under the category of Grace and that is How they will be Judged."

Have you never read "that faith without works is dead?"

because you have to see which is the most correct one

the holy book of god can't have any mistakes

or can't be edited or corrupted, the bible and torah have been both corrupted but God blessed us with the quran which has no signs of illogical mistakes withs science and has nothing bad in it

i heard in the bible/torah it says that samson (a prophet) had slept with a Palestinian prostitute.

u can't exactly see if this is the right book or that is the right book

u have to go to it,physically open the book and see whats inside

and that's what I recommend to you

go to the religion's particular church or mosque and ask about the religion

there are all different types of trolls here online each hating many different religions.

  • I believe because I personally prayed for the spirit to bless me with discernment and to do as promised and tell me the truthfulness of all things and whether or not what I was reading was the word of God or not. I read and I pondered and I prayed until I received the reassurance of that which I asked. I was prepared to act upon the answer I received, whatever it was. I was reassured, I had no stupor of thought, I had no loss of concentration, I knew that what I was reading and studying was true and the word of God. Since then I have felt the spirit working in my life on a daily basis. Helping me when I chose to listen and act upon the promptings and pulling away from me when I myself was pulling away from God and the influence of the spirit. Read it, Pray about it, Put what you read into practice and let the spirit of God work in your life.

though you don't believe it, it is in a sense faith. it's faith that my personal religion sticks as close as possible to the Bible. & it's faith that my Bible, the KJV 1611 is the preserved Word of God without error. i believe the 1611 because it is the original translation for english speaking people. i know some will say the 1604 is the original, the only difference in it & the 1611 is that the spelling was corrected in the later edition. i believe my choice of religion, Christian/Baptist, follows God's Word. i believe the new bible versions are of the devil because they leave out hundreds or thousands of words of God, or religions change it to make it say what they want it to. i believe in my heart that what i have chosen is right. i'm not forcing it on you or anyone else, but i live by it & i'll die by it & i'll share Jesus Christ with anyone willing to listen.

For the most part, it is what people are exposed to. Here in the US, Christianity in one form or another is the most prevalent religion. In Iran for example...it would be Islam. You can not know God if you have never been introduced to him. Once you are however...and you have that personal relationship with him...then you will know who he is...and that is what matters. Although I am a Christian... the one tenant of my faith that I refuse to believe is that if someone is not a Christian...they are doomed. The God that I know would not do that. I am certain that not everything I do in the name of Christianity is always pleasing to him either. God will be my judge. I will not judge others.

Actually it does. If i believe in God and i also believe in the trinity...god the father god the son and god the holy spirit, and that the son is jesus christ and that the Catholic bible is the inspired word of God written by the inspiration of the Holy spirit, then naturally i believe that Jesus existed he is God and God the Father himself said"this is my Son in whom i am well pleased..do what he tells you" and all that he instructed which is written down in the bible and handed down by oral tradition is the truth and is to be followed. Therefore i have evidence to believe that the Catholic faith is the one true faith as instructed by God himself set in motion through Peter the first Pope by Jesus Himself. Since God is the ultimate truth and cannot falsify himself then everything that He has said is truth and therefore to be believed.

im christian i do not in any way bash other religions nor do i believe they are false. I believe in the christian bible and the reason why is because it has been studied and interpreted by people who are very educated in the same religion as I am, Also the KJV bible is said to be the most accurate because of all the work put into it. That is why i believe mine is correct. but I am nobody to say that the Qua ran is incorrect.
