People don't waste time on things they believe are worthless.

But even with people telling children, Santa isn't real... the children over time do come to believe it is not real.

But even so those same children may still believe in the God.

    That's quite arrogant.

You're clearly ignorant of the reasons why people have Religions..

Here are some reasons why i believe what i believe, and why you can't simply dismiss it with a stupid opinion.

    Prophecy...

    Revolutions:

Look at the world right now, Alot of revolutions. And don't be so arrogant to say they have always been going on. Look at them all NOW.

    Wars:

Increase in wars, Well i don't know if you've noticed but in the last 100 years they have increased drastically. There are many wars going on right now, Alot of them aren't even talked about.

    Scoffers:

Look at all the people saying "Where is God? He's not real." "Where is all the things he promised us? Why hasn't he come yet" or "God is fake!"

There is so many of them, MUCH more than before.

    False prophets:

Okay anyone can see that there is false prophets EVERYWHERE now.

Especially ones that are speaking falsely in the name of the Lord.

Though Israel becoming a Nation is prophecy, It's commonly dismissed..

And a load of other things..

Not to mention the things that haven't happened yet, but even those who don't know about the prophecy are planning to do things or build things that fulfill it.

    Rebels:

    No, not revolutions.

Teenagers and such, It's pretty obvious that they're out of control EVERYWHERE.

    People seeing God:

People have been dreaming dreams and seeing visions all over the place, They see God or Heaven or Hell or other things like that. "Young men will have visions, and Old men will dream dreams."

Even people that don't KNOW about what is written.

    Personal experiences:

Can you honestly say that anyone who has had a personal experience with God is delusional? or just hallucinating?

I don't mean seeing his face on a tree or hearing him tell you to open a fridge.

I mean experiences with him the CHANGE your life. Literally.

In most cases it feeds a basic need to feel loved. Ever since mankind first looked up o a clear night and saw the stars they must have thought"Someone put them there for us"Thus the greatest mistreatment of the human race began.

For many people it is a way of life. For them there is a sense of belonging to something bigger than the self, a wider 'family'. The understanding they gain and togetherness extends over the World, so wherever they go they will find people they gel with.

For many to lose their faith would be a loss they could not deal with, could not come to terms with.

As was once said many years ago, it is a brave man who questions his faith.

    Yet I think your right.

A simultaneous need for a higher power to take responsibility and the desire for a safety net.

Religion means different things to different people. If people associate religion with pleasure, they will pursue it. If you don't get any charge out of it, then you will not do the religion thing much. Whatever floats your canoe.

    Like Carl Sagan once said,

Some people just have a deep seated NEED to believe.
