How gruesome are most eye surgeries or operations?
I am a senior in high school and the career looks quite prosperous and appealing. That technological advancements in the field of optometry are remarkable and pretty cool. However I am a guy that can get really qeezee when it comes to surgeries and blood and all that.

I went to college at a university medical branch where everyone in the class had to dissect cadavers. Some of us were nervous that we wouldn't be able to handle it, including me. I'm someone who gets faint when my blood is drawn. But when the time came, everyone was fine. It took no time at all to get used to. If that's the kind of work you want to do, I think you'll do just fine.

Optometrists (O.Ds) do not do surgery on the eye. They screen for eye diseases and do basic eye care. Ophthalmologists deal with diseases of the eye and perform surgery. If you are sqeemish of blood etc.. you can be an optometrist and it wont be a problem
