If you thought [or think] your child could model, would you let a 13 yr. old?why or why not?

My sister's daughter is only 13, a KID! And she is very pretty. She claims a "top" agency wants her daughter to work for them, when she grows 1 inch taller.

I saw the regular photos of my neice, and she's clearly so much a kid. And a lot of other shots of her my sister took, are of her daughter w/eye make up on, a false mole on her cheek, the top of her wrapped with a scarf, and a scarf overlapping half her face w/her eye shining through, and her other eye exposed. They're in black and white.. And similar ones of her daughter w/slightly seductive facial expressions ... she's a beautiful girl, always has been. In your opinion do you think it's a bit too young to have introduced her daughter to express herself in a mature womanly manner?

Also, she wants her daughter to model, but she admitted that her daughter doesn't want to model, and it isn't her daughters dream. What is your opinion on all of it? Would you encourage your daughter to model if she didn't want to? And wld you take seductive photos of her, and let her put them up on facebook?

Update:

*Actually I DID used to be a model. A few years ago did several modeling jobs on and off for a few yrs.

My son is an Adkid now and has been since he was 5 months old. It really depends on the company if I'd do it again with any age child. One company is really good to us. He gets his paychecks when they say they are but this other one, I indeed called today to let them know I'm bringing them to civil court, and immediately they said they sent his paycheck.... I should have brought them to court. The lawyer said they had enough, "Do good" time (a year and half) and I would have gotten more money, but I just wanted it to be over with so I don't have to deal with them again. Our contract doesn't end until August of this year but I doubt after today if they will call us again before that time.

Really scope it out. When I did call the state department of wages first, they told me a LOT of kids in the business in our city get this all the time. She said it's very common that people don't think they need to pay their child print ad or actors.

Child print ads and actors usually do'nt do raunchy stuff.. not where I live. We do a lot of medicines for the company Abbot, Johnson's baby soap, Huggies, Toys R Us, a few movies such as that Nicholas Cage movie with the sorcerer... that kinda thing. They will tell you who they deal with before you sign a contract.

As soon as my son tells me he's done.. I am too.

I had a friend in High School that did modeling on and off until about the age of 16. She seemed pretty happy to do it because she wasn't pushed into it by her parents.

She had "Issues" but that was more about neglectful parents than her modeling...

As long as they don't make her dress like a whore, I'd at least let her try... As the parent, you can always put a stop to it but if you never try, you'll never know if this is a direction she might want to take in life.

Never let it get in the way of her studies but it would be a good source of income to help pay for college.

I never exploit my daughter like that at all. I wouldn't make her do anything she didn't want to do especially the entertainment industry. Seduction comes from experience and having her daughter pose like that is beyond her mere 13 years, it's sad. Her mother is being selfish and using her daughter for her own gain.

Whether it was modeling or painting a picture I wouldn't make my child do anything they didn't want to do. I would sure as hell not let my child wear makeup or post adult pictures of herself on the internet.

No offense to your sister, but what kind of parent does that??!!!

I could never put my child through that. God only knows what that does to their confidence.
