Baby born at 33 weeks?

What to expect? Any story's?

Update:

I have type 1 diabetes ( well controlled) and have early stages of preeclampsia. Waiting on an ultrasound on friday to find out weather the baby is growing still. The growth rate has declined over the past month. They might Caesar me if the baby has not shown much growth this scan. It is an IVF baby so i am quite concerned. Thank you for your answers.

My daughter was born at 32 weeks in november of 09 and other than being small (3'11) she was fine she was in the nicu for one week before she was released to me and now shes 15 months old and extremely energetic. Everything will be fine. Congrats!!

Your baby would more than likely be fine, but probably would have to spend some time in the NICU b/c a babies lungs are not fully developed by then, therefor he/she would not be able to breathe on there own (every baby is different though). I personally know 2 people that had there babies before 30 weeks and there babies were a okay!! But not every child would be fine it just depends.

Why would you have a baby at 33 weeks? Curious

If your pregnant congrats and good luck!

my babe came out with no breathing problems (he was a month early) at first but after a day he was put into ICU because they discovered breathing problems. He was fine after a week of recovering. We was always allowed to enter and hold him when we wanted (plus I was still breastfeeding him). Slight developmental delaies occurred for a couple of months but he quickly caught up.

If you have your baby at 33 weeks it should have a really good chance of surviving the hospital would keep him/her in ICU for a few weeks i should think.
