What is the best way to measure the calories in rice?
I am watching my calorie intake. If I cook 100g of rice and eat the whole lot, is that the same amount of calories as the uncooked weight, please remember that A) rice swells and so is no longer 100g when cooked and B) there are less calories in cooked rice than uncooked.
Eating more calories than one burns means you will gain weight. End. Therefore "I wouldn't worry about the calories in rice especially brown rice" is NOT the answer or a suitable answer to this question. If I didn't feel the need to worry about it I wouldn't have asked.
Just want to thank Tasha for not reading the question there...top contributor? Not this time round...

omg nathan gave you awful advice. usually it says on the package whether the calories are relative to cooked or uncooked rice. I'm sure yours does. And to be safe, I would weigh it out after I cooked it because it could never hurt to eat less calories than you are assuming.
