How many churches and people in general do you think are praying for the situation in Japan and the effects it?
Been listening and watching off and on what is happening in Japan and the effects that disaster is having on the people of Japan as well as the rest of the world. I applaud those willing and able to go and do what they can to help these people out. I am sure those of Japanese decent who live in the states are worried sick about relatives and friends there and appreciate help from anyone able and willing.
I know my church is praying for those here who have loved ones in Japan as well as for other nationalities living there. I am hoping many if not all churches around the world are joining in offering prayers as well as any help they can offer to the folks in Japan.
Come on people lets not be bashing Japan for this. They didn't cause the earthquake or the volcanic activity that damaged the Nuclear power plants there. Those were natural events. Only the Power plant is not natural, and Japan is not the only country with Nuclear power plants either.
What happened there could easily happen anywhere else. Every country has greedy people in power, and governments are full of greedy people who's only bottom line is the buck. Let's be honest you all know that's the truth.
Any one feel like I do?

Our church too are praying and in our personal prayers (my husband and I), he asks for a special one for Japan.
My church does not like to shout out what is being done, because it is not a time for such pride, but I am sure they will not mind my saying something.
Not only are we praying, but our church has released money that is put especially by for such emergencies and many brothers and sisters, who are able; either because they are living near by or because they can offer much practical help. Clothing, food and spiritual food is being given to our brothers and sisters who are in Japan and for non christians alike. We also have medically trained brothers and sisters who are out there, giving MUCH needed medications etc.
The best thing that those of us, who cannot go out and give help personally, is to share with people the hope for the future, where all these dreadful things will not be called to mind: Revelations 21:3,4. Just as Jesus commanded his followers to do.
Unfortunately in situations such as this, blame seems to be a source of relief to some people. It makes it almost more bearable that it COULD have been prevented - rather than the sheer panic of nothing one can do but accept that it is happening and run or die.
Also, it IS due to how we treat our environment, which causes all these natural disasters.

The danger from the power plants is close to zero, yet that's what's getting all the press. The damage and lives lost were caused mainly by the tsunami that followed the earthquake. Here's an informative article about the power plants.

And yes, far too many are praying to the imaginary sky creatures rather than actually helping.

Despite what most think on the outside looking in, they really do pray for others. Perhaps with agendas & intentions, but they do it. I go to a local church every monday when they do a little 1-2 hour prayer service and they're not just faking it that's for sure. They really care about people...

There might be millions of christians, muslims and hindus praying for Japan but they are doing NOTHING compared to the thousands of Japanese rescue workers in the disaster zone and near the nuclear plants.

Far too many people are wasting their time asking for assistance from their invisible imaginary friends to help. They could actually accomplish something by getting out their checkbooks.

So who's "bashing Japan" ??
Most of the clowns in here are still busy trying to "bash" Christianity.
Did you give yourself a big pat on the head?

What is prayer going to do?
You should be asking, how many people are donating to the Red Cross?

I know many.
