Lefties, tell me why it is that you think making it harder for honest law abiding?

The only reason Obama wants people to hand over guns is so they cant protect themselves against his fascist dictatorship. Its a well known fact that the biggest criminal you need to protect yourself against is your government. And it is a well known fact that states where people carry guns have a much lower crime rate. Criminals are less likely to approach people if they know they might be armed. And the biggest criminal threat is the Obama administration. Buy as many guns as you can get hold of before this man bans them.

Because we live in the real world and not in the fantasy world of the NRA's propaganda machine.

In the real world:

*Law abiding citizens do shoot and occasionally kill other equally law abiding citizens on a fairly regular basis

*Most people who shoot and occasionally kill each other already know each other

*Many gun shot victims ARE armed

*There are many situations where being armed has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on the ultimate outcome>see being shot and occasionally killed by random rounds

*Having a gun inside a home represents a greater danger to the people who are legally inside the home than to those who would illegally enter it from the outside

*Your beloved law abiding citizen is the primary source of all illegal street guns

* Despite the obscene amount of guns and ammunition that are floating around this country most of your beloved law abiding citizens will never fire a shot in anger at the dreaded criminal ,a fact which can only lead one to believe that the need to own guns for self defense is irrational .

*It is also irrational to honestly believe that the Framers wrote the Second Amendment so that an ad-hoc well armed mob could wake up one morning , call there buddies and then go out into the streets and begin the violent overthrow of their legally elected government,

The real purpose of the Second Amendment is stated in it's first four words "A well regulated militia"

Article 1 Section 8 confirms that and places ultimate control of that well regulated militia under the authority of the Federal government and the Civil War showed exactly how those well regulated militias were intended to be used in combat

Please post a link that says Obama is trampling the constitution. Because as far as I know he does not want to take away your 2nd amendment right.

If you are a law abiding gun owner then what is the problem with waiting for background checks, etc?

Guess where some of the criminals get their guns, they break into responsible gun owners homes and take them.

Do really think the citizens would ever have the gun power to match the Govt? You do realize that the Govt would mean the Armed Forces right?

You'll see that South Carolina, Tennessee, Nevada and Florida - all states with permissive gun laws - are ranked 1, 2, 3 and 4 respectively for violent crime rates.

Besides, it's not regular people having guns that I worry about. It's gun fetishists who do things like go to online message boards to rant and rave about gun laws that bother me.

How is it hard for you? You go to the gun-shop, put down your deposit, fill out the paper-work and wait your seven days-pay the remainder of the purchase price- and the gun is yours. How is that hard? If you have legal issues that's your own fault - not the government's.

Honest, law abiding folks can easily obtain weapons...

I cannot fathom why background checks and waiting periods cause too much discomfort for "law abiders".

In fact, I had to have a waiting period and background check (financial) in order to purchase a home

That must be why we can now carry guns into National Parks over the past 2 years. New legislation under Obama/DEMs.
