    The budget numbers I've heard are about $150,000 per missile. The $575,000 figure quoted from Navy.mil is FY99 numbers, so ~12 years old. Think about how much targeting systems (read: GPS) have gotten cheaper in that time. In 1999, you couldn't have gotten one for multiple thousands of dollars. Now, at ~$60, you can have one for your car.

    Also, we buy them in bulk.
