8 month old will not drink pedialyte?

I have an 8 1/2 month old daughter that has been vomiting for almost 12 hours now. she can't keep anything down. now, before you tell me to take her to the er, i have already done that. we just got back from er about 7 hours ago. they gave her some zofran for the nausea and had her drink some pedialyte. she would only take about a half oz and screamed if i tried to give her more. they sent her home with a prescription for more zofran but the pharamacy was closed when we were released. she went to sleep and slept for 4 hours then woke up and started dry heaving. i still can't get her to take any pedialyte. is there anything else that i can do? the dr said she had a stomach bug so i don't think i need to take her back to the er for that since there is nothing else they can do, i just don't want her to get dehydrated!! any tips/advice for giving pedialyte would be greatly appreciated!

You can try watering it down the first few times if she isn't used to the taste. Or try a different flavour or brand. My son drinks the no-name apple better than the rest.

She only needs a few sips at a time right now, but try every twenty minutes or so. Once you can get her her meds, it will get easier.

You can also try using a med dosing cup or soaking a corner of a washcloth with it and throwing it in the freezer for a few minutes then let her suck on that.

    Good luck.

Buy an Oral Syringe at the pharmacy. Give her pedialyte with the help of this syringe. She should be able to take it. Make sure she is lying down when you put it to her mouth.

My son was the same. Keep trying small amounts. My son would drink small amounts if it was very cold, also got an unflavored variety. If this persists please don't be afraid or feel dumb for taking him back to the hospital or a clinic. Follow up with your kids normal doctor. Good luck.
