Fun things for our road trip? Young kids...?
I have a 6 year old, a 3 year old, and a 19 month old. Our road trip is only 8 hours but its always boring sitting in a car for any amount of time. We have a dvd player, but the battery will only last through one movie. Though our vehicle is very reliable, the charger hole is out (perhaps a fuse) so I will not be able to use the dvd player much! Plus movies aren't always entertaining anyways! I am just wondering of any ideas or things I should buy to help with entertainment along the way! Thanks in advance for your help!

How about coloring books, sticker or activity books? look in any store, like target, walmart and they usually have travel games.. also show them stuff outside, ask them if they see certain things- cows, clouds, etc. I took a couple of road trips with my twin boys when they were between 2 and 8 and there were no dvd players for cars at that time. It'll all work. Make sure you can also make stops, whether at rest areas so they can run around, or just for a snack or something.

Maybe you can get music that they know and you guys can sing it for a while. Also maybe some little games that wont be too messy in the car or possibly coloring books? You guys can play ispy game on the way there! Thats all i can think of rite now. I hope i helped!!

Get a mix tape or CD of some silly songs that your kids AND you will enjoy.
Play simple road games that they can understand (Who can see a green car, the first one to answer gets praised)

Do they have iPods? DSI's? Anything like that? Those are great. Bring paper to draw on, and snacks. If they like dolls or anything like that, bring some of those. Play I-Spy and 20 Q and lots of games..
