How do I get to Lynn Canyon park in North Vancouver?

Without going through Vancouver.

I only have a one zone bus pass and live in New Westminster.

And no, I really don't have the 250 i need to get there and back.

what you could try is taking the skytrain to metrotown and take the 130 to phibbs exchange. they only run to phibbs every half hour so make sure it's not the one that only goes to hastings or kootenay loop. (the one that goes to capilano college will also take you to phibbs) you can also take the skytrain all the way to gilmore station and get on the 28 to phibbs from there (it leaves form joyce initally, then stops at gilmore on the way to phibbs) OR you can ride to brentwood station and take the 130 phibbs/cap college from there. it goes from metro to brentwood and so on. anyway from phibbs exchange you take the 229 Lynn Valley bus. they run every half hour. it drops you off right there and you just take the same way back to new west. With one zone you can go to burnaby and north van but just not vancouver? if so you're good to go. but keep in mind 80% of the time bus drivers don't even look at the bus pass very well. most likely they won't say anything even if you're in the wrong zone. But this route won't take you into Vancouver.

ps lynn canyon is the stop that says peters rd @ duval

While North Vancouver, Burnaby and New Westminster are all in the same fare zone, in practice there is no way to get from Burnaby to Vancouver without passing through Vancouver, because that's where the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge is, and there are no crossings east of that. The only way to get there on a one-zone fare is to go after 6:30 PM on a weekday, or any time on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday.
