Should I go back to school?

so I have been with my boyfriend for 7 years and counting, and we've lived together for 4. And he just recently lost his job so we couldn't afford all the bills anymore - so we moved in with my parents. I have 2 part time jobs currently. Should I go back to school? This would be the perfect opportunity to because I could quit one of my jobs and do school online. The only thing that's holding me back is that I don't know if I can stand to live with my parents for another 2-4 years.

(side note - we've only been there 2 weeks and it's already driving me CRAZY!!!)

How old are you? You sound really young still, so I would assume that a degree would be worth it.

On the other hand, if I am wrong and you are over the age of 45, chances are the degree will not be of much use, when you consider ageism. ^.^

I think you should go back to school though, if you can!!! Working two jobs, I would assume you could afford a small room and share that with your boyfriend?

One note, make sure you go to a REAL college...not one of those scam schools advertised on television ^.^ If you take online classes, make sure it is through a real school is all ^.^

I'd say go back. If you're young, you're not going to get anywhere without a degree. Without a degree, by the time you have much bigger problems and your parents aren't there/able to help you out, you'll be in much more serious trouble. Stay with your parents if you have to, or if you can afford it once your boyfriend gets a job again, get a single room or rent a room from someone.

So let me get this straight. You live in your parents' basement with your boyfriend, and he's jobless, and you're considering going back to school at taxpayer expense while you "tolerate" your parents.

If I were your parent, I'd kick you out on the street with one month's rent money and tell you to get married and have your boyfriend/husband find a job.

Depends on the education that you already do have & what program you would be taking.
