Does psychology count as a science?

I'm trying to apply for grants for college and a lot of them want women going into a science. I'm wonder if psychology counts for that? I know it's a social science but would they count it as a science for grants?

Please and thank you. I really need this information.

I've put this in both the psychology section and the higher education section too just so people know.

Many grant programs which encourage women to go into science will not give much, if any, money to women who will study psychology. There is no "shortage" of women psychologists.

no psychology doesn't count as a science. they want women that are going into hard sciences (ie. chem, engineering, bio, ect) not soft sciences/social sciences (ie. psychology, sociology, anthropology, ect).
