Can I buy and fly a demilitarised fighter plane in Canada?

Are there special rules and what are they (or where can I find these rules)? Thank you beforehand.

You sure can, it requires Special Certificate of Airworthiness -Limited. Ive seen everythng here from the P-51 Mustang to Mig 17's, to Albatrosses.

Heres a list of everything you need to know about it from Transport Canada including excluded aircraft

Canadian rules I can't help you with. But you might try the Canadian Warplane Heritage, the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association and Vintage Wings -- all of which operate WWII aircraft in Canada.

A lot may depend on how old the plane is. If you are talking about WWII planes it is one thing. If you are talking about a CF-16, that quite another. Go to the website offered by Warbird Pilot and check it out.
