Is it wrong of me to hate my sister-in-law?

My brother is in the airforce so he was currently living in Japan with his wife. Because of the power plant radiation my sister-in-law decided that she no longer felt safe and left him to come home. My brother is now alone and working 12 hour shifts 6 days a week but she says that it's only temporary and that she still loves him. To me love means being with the one you love even through the bad times. Is it wrong of me to hate her for this? Everyone else seems to support her and my brother only says that he can't force her to stay with him

Update:

he can't leave because he's signed up for 4 years in the Airforce and he hasn't even completed one year yet

I don't think it's right to hate her, you shouldn't hate anyone. Sometimes things happen and nobody is perfect, she might have other reasons for leaving that you don't know about. It's not your relationship, it's their relationship. Try really hard to love her anyway and maybe she will open up to you and explain all of the reasons she had to leave. Try to be accepting to other people because nobody is perfect and it's not right to hate someone just because they did something that you yourself wouldn't do. Good luck!

Hard for me to say it's wrong of her bc i don't know what I would do if i was her.. I agee with you tho.. loves means to be with that person and supporting them and not leaving them for your own sake. I hope I would be strong enough to stay but I dont know. I don't think you should hate her but you can disagree. Hope that helps

Thanks to your brother for being in the airforce!

Sure you can have feeling.Your sister-in-law did the right thing really. Maybe things go deeper.Do they have a family?Maybe she wants to have children and does not want to be exposed by the radiation as ir may affect her fertility. To be honest I would have left too.I would not feel safe with the radiation .

Earthquake, severe after shocks, tsunami, floods, fires, explosions, radiation plants severely damaged...

Your brother is lucky he didn't find his wife dead. I'm sure he wants the best for her and at this time the best thing to do is to get her out of there and to safety! It's perfectly okay to put your spouse's safety first.

That is completely wrong!!! if she loves him she would stay. shes pathetic! you have every right to hate her. being in the minitary is very stressful and now he has to be there alone? no thats wrong. you can hate her all you want its a free country! and it seems like you have a good reason.

    * Why didn't he leave with her. It could be looked at the other way around. Why intentionally let yourself be exposed to such a thing. Making a little money is one thing, but shortening your life span is another.

your brother should have left along with his wife..temporarily.. she has the right to not expose herself to radiation. hate is big word, you should not hate her..you hate her this act.

yes, it is wrong of her to just leave him there by himself, its rude and as you said, love is when you stay by your partner even when times are at their toughest. yes, you can hate her. but then again, there's nothing you can do about it, just tell her you don't like her for what she did to him, thats it.
