Am I the only person who does NOT care about Prince Williams' wedding?
Ok, So I live in the USA, but there is so much talk on the news and everyone is so "geeked" about it. Does anyone else really not care? Just wanted to know if I stand alone or if I am weird...yes I am a female.

Obviously, you haven't read any questions, here.
No. You're not. Just because there's a loud minority of people interested in something, doesn't mean that the "silent majority" simply isn't talking...I mean...they aren't, really, and they aren't being heard.
You have to understand, if there were more important things for the news to talk about, they wouldn't put so much time into this. Remember Monica Lewinsky? The only reason she was as known as she was, as face-spread-across-the-news, as she was, is because there wasn't anything else to fill the newscasts with.

Let's face it - people like celebrity and "royals" are the ultimate celebrities. I could equally well ask "what is this whole thing with Michael Jackson?" Of course you care if you like his music so you're interested in him, but if you don't like his music, so what?
If I were American, I'd probably feel the same as you, but I'm not - I'm British - and this is the wedding of the man who in all probability will be King William V one day, so to me it matters. The whole business of a constitutional monarchy is a very bonding thing because it means our head of state is totally non-political, and it really brings the nation together on occasions like this, but objectively it doesn't matter to Americans. As I say, to Americans it's about celebrity and that interests a lot of people.
Maybe the other thing about it is the British heritage of the USA.
Let's put it the other way round. Why should we Brits care about presidential elections in the USA? We do take an interest but it's because the USA is the world's remaining superpower and we have a so-called "special relationship" so it affects us because it drags us into things like what's going on in Iraq and Libya, but that's the only reason.

More than likely not, but you are from the USA. I will guarantee that if everyone said they do care and were to be given $ 1000.00 for doing so the USA would be first in line to do so, it's amazing what the almighty dollar can do.
