Make some appointments with 3 or more good experienced tattoo artists. Pay for their time and ideas. They can let you know what is realistic and work with you. I understand that black ink is the best for covering just about any tattoo, and most cover-ups will be at least twice the size of the original tattoo. You may also want to lighten what you have with a few laser treatments before putting on a cover-up for more design options. Good luck, hope this information was helpful.

I think that you could do a sugar skull successfully. You need to find a skilled and talented tattoo artist and you need to have good references to help your tattoo artist draw up a custom design that will successfully cover the existing tattoo image. It will need to be at least 2Xs bigger (or more)
