If Jesus came here to save the Christians...?

And Gautama Buddha came here to save the Buddhists... and Rama, Shiva, Krishna, Babaji et al all came to save the Hindus... and Abraham & King David came to save the Jews... and Muhammad came to save the Muslims... and Lao-Tse came to save the Taoists... And Stephen Hawking came to save the Atheists... etc.

Then who is really left to be "saved"? And is being saved really something someone else is supposed to do for us?

What if I just want to Love? I don't want to look at another and through judgement deem that they are not worthy, not living life as I believe is required and thus determine that it is up to me to save them. Who am I to judge another worthy or not? Did not Christ Yeshua, as did ALL the other great messengers, masters, gurus, rishis, saints, etc. all teach that Love is our ultimate purpose?

Then why is this "saving" bit still practiced? Why is it easier to judge, condemn and hate than it is to simply love all with all of your heart, mind & soul?

Blessings

**FYI - I give no thumbs down**

Update:

Thank you Well Ferios for the book. I look forward to reading it. I was not under the impression that my light was low but I gladly & lovingly receive your gift.

Yes Caitlin, I concur with you. Thank you also for the clarification. I labeled those as such purposefully and with a particular point in mind. But your courtesy provided so lovingly deserves recognition and reciprocity. Blessings

None of the Masters you mention came to create a religion. That is what the ego/mind does with those things that are not understood. But to come to save? There are those who misunderstand the point and purpose of Creation and of the nature of their own being. Who, having love for them, would not come to save them from the suffering inherent in the mistaken state of being that binds us to the suffering of the world sans Truth, Intuition, Reality, Source?

    Jesus came to save all.

The other religions really don't push the need to be "saved".

Buddha sought a different way for himself, others followed because he seemed to be onto something(I disagree with his teachings)

Abraham and David didn't come to save anyone in the sense you are talking. They were leaders of their people, yes, but the didn't offer salvation to anyone.

Rama, Shiva, Krishna et al are simply the deities of the Hindus. The represent different facets of Brahman, the godhead source of EVERYTHING in Hinduism.

Lao-tse was a teacher , but again I don't recall any need to be reconciled to a deity is Taoism.

Stephen hawking would probably have his electronic voice laugh at you for suggesting that he was here to save anyone. Again the atheists don't believe in the need to be saved.

Muhammad on the other hand may have felt he was "saving" the Muslims, but he was not saving them himself merely providing the correct message(Again I disagree with Islam).

Saving is necessary because we still do what is not right. I am a Christian so by default of course I am a sinner, and believe everyone is a sinner. I don't hate the people who violate God's laws, I pity them. I am happy if they turn from their ways. Some "Christians" forget the forgiveness and love part of things. Unfortunately they also tend to be the ones that make headlines. The 50 soft spoken ones handing out meals to the homeless don't make the news, but the 5 on the corner holding up vicious "protest" signs at a funeral will be on national TV. Those kind make me as sick as they probably do you.

You speak the words of a true mystic. "Messengers" have come since the beginning of time to "save" us from some horrible end. But these messengers were just humans, no different that you and I. That we should deify them and create entire religions around them doesn't surprise me, as many people still need to be pointed in the direction of love and light. Honestly, I think that's all any religion does.... it points us in a certain way, but then it's up to us to follow our own hearts. Eventually, be it in this life or the next, we trade in our "religious" views for non-judgemental spirituality - that is, we recognize that we (and all life) are part of the God force instead of separate from it.

Nice sentiment regarding love. I really appreciate it. I think that at its core, every religion preaches love, and in all honestly, if we would all focus on that rather than the details, we would be much better off on the whole as human beings.

Having said that, Stephen Hawking is a scientist, not a savior. Lao Tzu was a philosopher, as was Siddhartha Guatama (or Buddha, which is a title, not a deity). Not criticising your sentiment, just pointing this out for those who don't know.

The assumption is humankind needs to be saved from sin. If mankind needs saving I would think it would be from their false identities and desires that is the cause of their suffering. Zen Buddhism addresses this directly. Belief or good deeds are not going to help discover who or what it is that needs saving in the first place. Without awakening to inner experience all knowledge is baseless; bogus. I agree with you that love is wondrous but is not the false ego identity incapable of authentic love? Self centeredness is an ugly thing to behold. Take a look see.

Namaste, you are on the right track, my friend. Organized religions do some good, but in the end create boundaries and stifle oneness between all peoples. I call myself a mystic because I accept truths from many sources and do not discriminate or condemn others for having different beliefs than I do, what I believe doesn't require them to. Fear based religions are a lie, and those who follow out of fear or desire of a reward are disingenuous at the core. I wish all were brave enough to put the fear they were taught aside and seek truth. Hotep brother

Jesus, in my opinion, came to save the people. Not only Jews. Much of his teachings are not studied or interpreted correctly. He was a mystic, not a really religious man. He was concerned more for the spirit of the people rather than the laws. He spoke of spiritual consciousness. Throughout his teachings and other lost gospels he always speaks of The Heaven On Earth, which he, as an enlightened man, saw firsthand. Like Buddha. He was fully "awake".

What Christianity as a religion is, is simply more man made mandates and we have moved from Jesus' original teachings to the same pile of nonsense they had in HIS time. More dogma, more rules, less spiritual focus, less consciousness. He'd be pretty disappointed in what his beliefs have turned into. But also happy to see the world growing in love and charity. Jesus' teachings can be appreciated by anyone. As for Buddhism, I respect their beliefs and see massive corelations between the teachings and those of Jesus. The golden rule, in fact, relates to the oneness of the world and our oneness with God. He himself said God is IN Him. And us all. But I'd be labeled a heretic and fed to the lions. lol

I agree with Me…no pun intended. Upon seeing is believing…much like darkness the ego identity is false and human beings sleep. The foundation of the Buddha's teachings lies in compassion, and the reason for practicing the teachings is to wipe out the persistence of ego, the number-one enemy of compassion.

You are wrong my friend. The Buddha spoke of love all, Jesus spoke of love those who believe in him and Mohammad does not speak of love at all. One could argue Buddha and Jesus and Krishna were all enlightened but Mohammad cannot be put in the same category by any stretch. Also, Christians and Muslims wiped out entire civilizations unlike Buddhists, Hindus and atheists.

Some people believe in Santa Claus and others believe in themselves. With the former there is always judgment by others on whether or not you have been bad or good. With the latter there is saving gnosis.
