Is it about time, Canadians?

To let go of Harper government for their mishandling of the tax payers money during recession ( a billion dollar budget for G8/G20 summits, billions on fighter jets and millions on prisons), getting rid of the Canada Pension Plan and the worst of all , taking away our democratic rights to assemble and to protest during G8/G20 and a lot of people were insulted and wrongfully detained . If the Canadian Government doesn't recognize our Basic Human Rights then it must go because election is very much part of our exercising of our rights.

Ignoring the fact they didn't get rid of the Canada Pension Plan...

Well... unfortunately in a minority government the other parties have the exact same responsibility as the as the government. They voted for (or abstained on votes for) these budgets. They accepted the summit costs, the fighter contracts, higher deficits, etc. It seems strange to blame the minority for bills when *everyone* went along with it. Anyone of the three opposition parties could have voted against the bill -- they just didn't think it was worth having another election for. If they weren't willing to make their case to the Canadian voters back then, I'm not let them finger point now.

Yes they spent too much on the G8/G20. Billions on fighter jets is fine by me. We must have a military and they must be armed. Prisons are just a cost of doing business. However many of those murderers should be used for transplant material. Harper cut the GST and did a few other good things. The Liberals are not financially responsible. The NDP are anti-business. As you should know , business creates ALL the wealth in this country. The NDP ( especially in Ontario) have proven they can not manage government.

    Of course you are right.

Canada doesn't need fighter jets. We can use refurbished CN Rail cars fitted with grenade launchers.

We don't need prisons or tougher laws...just send them all to Toronto and give them public housing.

Of course a partisan vote on ethics and budgetary issues is sure fire proof of poor ethical standards. The brilliant ethical standards on use of public funds was well outlined by previous Liberal governments and involves kickbacks and misappropriation of funds. Not agreeing with Liberal cost estimates of fighter jet costs is sure fire proof of bad ethical standards.

Of course the G8/G20 was a disaster. We all looked forward to a repeat of the previous GATT meetings and APEC Summits that resulted in millions of dollars in public property being destroyed buy masked hoodlums from God knows where! It should have been held in the Holiday Inn in Sudbury. It would have cost much less.

Basic Human Rights...yes...of course you make a great point. We all look to the Rights afforded to residents of the Middle East, Russia, China and the Far East as the "Gold Standard" that all should aspire to!

Yes, it is time. We as citizens of Canada cannot let Harper get away with turning our great country into the U.S. under George W. Bush. If he even gets a majority, it's the end of Canada as we know it.

C'mon Canadians (and liberal Albertans), do the right thing!

Honestly, there isn't a single good one in the bunch to vote for. I would be happy to get rid of Harper if I new what I was getting was going to be better, but I can't say I know that for sure. I don't like the style of any of the leaders.

I think the form of grandstanding you are doing is not helpful to the left. I want a reason to vote Liberal, not just a reason not to vote for Harper, the Libs have given me no reason for change and I am in the heart of the Liberal stronghold.

One thing I think is correct though is that Iggy has nowhere to go but up, he is at the lowest he could possibly be right now unless his base turned on him.

I may not have agreed with you but I was willing to at least read until I got to your statement about them having gotten rid of the CPP. Any (small) amount of credibility you had up to that point was lost for sure.

Put aside the rhetoric and get your facts straight before you try to sound like you know what you are talking about.

you might want to take a course in economics, maybe a budget course, business management, to get the rheteric out of your soul and realize they all sound alike, done most of the same things; if you had anything to do with the military you would realize they need even more than that..the catch you are not getting is the spleit..the americans are making the planes but we are getting the servicing contract and the parts contract for their factory planes around the world so it means jobs for canada and a bigger export; also govts need "war zones"to keep business going people working etc it just goes around and around. If you really want to vote on principle go green
