Why is Caroline Spellman so dead set in selling off our woodland?
She has already been told NO by the Nation, and now she is tenaciously saying the woodlands and forestry will be sold off, and almost busting a gut to get them sold.
She lives in a lovely part of the Midlands of England (well treed), I bet those woodlands will remain pristine and never sold off.
I'm assuming she has nothing personal to gain from this of course; I may have read that she has already been questioned for expenses fiddling during the life of the previous Parliament.

You have to remember that most politicians are profoundly stupid, and/or have narrow self-interests in mind or are being paid off by somebody to get some self-serving deal done for someone. We have the same problem here in the US. The real enemy of the people is the politicians they elect, not some foreign terrorist, and this is all rapidly coming to a head as the stupidity will soon reach the tipping point that will spill over into major economic disaster.

Because she's a Tory and she'd much prefer the land to be owned by people with lots of money, to the detriment of everyone else.

i've never understood her thinking on that. maybe she has a squirrel phobia. i cant think of any other reason.
