Why do Christians use studies that have nothing to do with the topic?

Why do people continue to use studies to support their conclusions when the original study had nothing to do with the topic??

The "Dutch Gay Marriage Study" is used over and over by religious people to show the errors of homosexuality, but really has nothing to do with anything these "religious people" are trying to prove.  For one, the study surveyed gay men who were actively seeking treatment at an AIDS/HIV clinic, but "religious people" continue to extrapulate the study results to mean EVERY gay man.  Is that fair?  That's like taking a survey of brothel workers and saying they represent the entire heterosexual female population.  Why would you continue to cite a study like this when your conclusions can be so easily disproved by what that study actually says?  Do they think people are too stupid to analyze data for themselves??

Tim, yes, people are too stupid to analyze the data. If you were following the war in Iraq when Bush was in office you would have been bowled over by the non stop stream of lies that were refuted many times over. It just didn't matter. The stream of lies kept playing over and over until it was embedded into the psyche of the mass population. Anyone I would talk to about it sounded like a tape recorder repeating the propaganda verbatim.

How else could Bush have gotten reelected to a second term in office. Because the majority of America seriously lacks the ability to use critical thinking and doesn't know what skepticism is. Obama only was elected because he knew how to beat that system with his own team. Didn't work during the midterms though. Now we've got billion dollar corporations donating to the Republican Party with no need for any record all thanks to the Supreme Court. Yah, remember the Supreme Court in Florida that helped to stop the vote count and declare Bush the winner?

I'm sorry to tell you buddy but until the Democrats learn how to beat that propaganda mill known as Fox News and other outlets like Rush Limbaugh, Americans are going to be following along with the propaganda like blind lemmings running off a cliff edge.

Yes, they do think people are too stupid to analyze data for themselves and use deductive reasoning. And sadly, many people are. So they buy into this b.s. and we have to live with these ******* who won't shut up and keep their religion in the church. Instead, they have to spread it around to everyone and mess everyone else's life up and try to control what we're allowed to see, read, hear, say, and buy. Also, keep in mind that these people are not interested in the logical deconstruction of arguments. They only thing that they care about is supporting their story by any means necessary. Which is why they think that a Bible is proof of their claims, which by the way is like saying that the movie and book "Peter Pan" prove that Peter Pan was real.
