Opening day survey!.. ready?

Since it's opening day today (for some teams), I'd figure I'd do an opening day survey.. ready?

1. Is opening day the best day of the year for you?

2. What so you like best about opening day?

3. How are you feeling about your team this year?

4. How do you think your team will do this season?

5. What's your favorite opening day moment?

6. Have you ever attended opening day?

7. Has your favorite player ever hit a walk off HR or hit on opening day?

8. Do you watch other opening day games?

9. How did ST go for your team this year?

10. Who's your team playing?

Thanks everyone :)

    1. It is when we win...I did skip school for opening day, though, so I guess it wasn't a bad day

    2. Seeing all of the new faces on the team. From the coaching staff, to the players, it's just nice to get familiar with the people that I'm going to see for the rest of the season.

    3. I think that we're one of the best teams in baseball, honestly. If everyone figures out their roles and we become healthy, I think that we can make it deep into the playoffs. I'm very optimistic, and I haven't ever been as excited about the Crew as I am this year.

    4. ^^^

    5. I can't recall...every opening day in recent memory has turned out pretty poorly for the Crew. I remember Kosuke Fukudome hitting a walkoff a couple seasons ago against us (I'm pretty positive that it was opening day), and now the walkoff today...opening day hasn't been too kind to Milwaukee.

    6. Nah, it's during a busy part of the year for me. I'd like to, though.

    7. Ryan Braun is my favorite hitter, and he hasn't yet. He did hit a homerun today.

    8. I watched part of the Tigers-Yankees game, but the Brewers game kept me pretty tied up today.

    9. Great, actually. From everything I've heard, the buzz and confidence around all of the players and coaching staff was great. This might be the best team that the Brewers have had since '82, at least on paper.

    10. The Cincinnati Reds

    1. Most years, yes. It's the greatest sports day of the year. But the Packers won the Super Bowl this year, so nothing short of a Cubs world series birth can top that day for me in 2011.

    2. A clean slate. 0-0 and back to .500. I love it.

    3. The Cubs are interesting. They are in a wide open division and really made offseason moves that would indicate they feel they can contend. I feel they will compete for the division, but I don't think they can win it.

    4. Anywhere from 2-4th in a CLOSE NL Central. I'd lean toward 3rd or 4th.

    5. I'm going to say that my favorite opening day moment will happen tomorrow. I will be going to Wrigley with a few of my friends to see my first opening day game. I can't wait.

    6. Tomorrow

    7. No. My favorite player has never played on opening day (Starlin Castro)

    8. Yes, I love baseball. I will watch every game on TV today besides the Cardinals game, for obvious reasons.

    9. Great. Carlos Silva performed well enough to get cut. That in itself should help team chemistry.

    10. The PIRATES!! YES!

Dan: I could really see the Pirates taking 2 of 3 from the Cubs this weekend. The Pirates OWNED the Cubs last year.

    1. No. I like it but it's not the best day.

    2. Baseball starts up.

    3. A little concerned but not overly worried yet.

    4. I'm not really sure. The Cardinals have some good players and if they come together could go deep but I could see them collapsing again as well.

    5. Not really sure.

    6. Not in the Major Leagues. I've been to a couple of first games in college if that counts.

    7. Not that I'm aware of.

    8. Not usually.

    9. I don't really keep up with Spring Training beyond injuries and other major news.

    10. Padres

1.It doesn't compare to the NHL playoffs, nothing does. Baseball is my #2 sport.

    2.Winning

3.We're the Yankees...how do you think I'm feeling?

4.I think we're the deepest team in the game top to bottom.

5.In our home opener in 2003, Hideki Matsui hit a grand slam in his first game at Yankee Stadium.

    6.Not yet, but I will.

7.My favorite player is a pitcher, so he doesn't hit at all.

8.I would, but not today cause I had school. I only watched the Yankees...well most of it. I actually showed up a half hour late to a Spanish midterm because I was watching Mariano finish off the Tigers in the 9th at the student lounge.

9.Below .500, but hey it's only ST. Especially for an older team like the Yankees cause they spend alot of ST resting their regulars.

10.Los Tigres (I passed that midterm as you can see)

    1. It's one of the best.

    2. A start of a new season, and your first chance to see the new additions on your team.

    3. I don't expect a winning season, but I expect some improvement.

    4. 71-91, last in NL Central

    5. Any Pirates opening day win

    6. Nope. I would love to some day though.

    7. Nope. I will expect Andrew McCutchen to do it soon, maybe tomorrow.

    8. Yes. I am watching Padres/Cardinals right now as a matter of fact.

    9. Not so good

    10. The Cubs. I'm hopeful in this series since we beat up on them pretty bad last year.
